Going to be Alaska for a few days visiting a friend of mine and might try to get up and catch the Georgia Southern game.

Think peanuts as in Georgia peanuts as in the Peanut Farm. It's Alaska big. Although I didn't go to it they have a Tilted Kilt too and they are generally pretty good sports bars.
I was in Anchorage and surrounding area in August and it was exceedingly pleasant with nice long mild days to ride a bike. I'd make sure I took a heavy coat with me this time of year. It's good you've got a friend to stay with--the hotel prices are ridiculous.
