Bobo was gone either way...IMO, of course. It was time, and a great opportunity.

No, for this too. He didn't even try to keep him. He should have been offering Bobo a million a year, maybe more.

Meh. Bobo saw the writing on the wall. This is Pruitt's team.

Maybe he did, comrade. Maybe he did...

Maybe he offered him 1.5 million. Maybe...

Maybe, Bobo wanted to take advantage of a great situation and grow as a person and coach. Maybe he wants to prove something to himself and others. Maybe he will frick Mrs. Bobo tonight and create another mouth to feed.

Maybe, baby....I'll have you....

Yea Bobo was going to take the HC job regardless of what UGA offered to pay him (within reason obviously).

That being said, I hope shite rains down on McGarity. In his situation, you need to at least let it be known publicly that you at least offered a raise (even though it was still too little too late).

Hell, Tennessee hears a brief mention of Michigan and the fact that Butch Jones was born in Michigan and they're out giving his 6-6 arse a raise because they think they have the right guy for the job.

Mcgarity gave the most pathetic answer ever about giving the coaches raises. He said something along the lines of "we give the coaches a pool of money to deviy up how Richt thinks." Remember a couple of years ago when richt aaSy paying coaches out of pocket because he didn't think that they got paid enough.

The more I sit and think about it the more inclined I am to believe that perhaps this was just Bobo wanting to take what he perceived as a great opportunity. At this moment how do we know that GM didn't offer him a substantial raise? I think ppl should withhold judgement until we see how the AD responds with the new hire. I mean Bobo was good but he wasn't some world beater that is irreplaceable and as far as recruiting goes BM and JP are just as good as he is.

McGarity still sucks though.

Well, the other side is the fact that the admin is very tight with the purse strings.

I don't really do the whole "online petition" thing...what exactly happens when you get to the "required" number of signatures?

Yeah there's no doubt about that. I guess I'm looking at it like this. Perhaps they did try to negotiate with CMB, but he just really wanted to be a head coach. Maybe they didn't negotiate with him bc they don't believe he is worth the price tag that he was asking. Or maybe Bobo felt that his offenses would never be as prolific as they have been these past few years and he struck while the iron was hot. I mean before Gurley arrived how many ppl were singing his praises? Point is we just don't enough yet about what happened.
