Not in a secondary this razor thin. At this point, knowing the defense and where you're supposed to be is worth 4 inches on your frame.

Where do you people come from?
.

I come from Cleveland, Ga.

I only threw the speculation out there because the buzz in camp has been that McGhee is coming on strong and that Parrish doesn't necessarily fit the Kirby mold. Honestly, I think it would be more likely for McGhee or Speed or another young guy to take Bakers spot than Parrish's for exactly the reasons you stated. Sometimes it's just fun to throw scenarios out there and see how people react to them. Clearly, this crowd has not got their postulating pants on tonight. My apologies to all of you fine, intellectually superior folks.

But he did when he became healthy. Let me guess, another "least important detail"?

I equated it as a "foot" injury because, while JT3 did have a sprained ankle, I think we all saw the writing on the wall that the ankle came at just about the time everyone was clamoring for Stafford and that ankle stayed bad the rest of the season apparently because you don't lose your starting position due to injury they say...but JT3 never came back and let's face it, the ankle is pretty close to the foot. So, for a bit of wild speculation, it wasn't so far off. It's not like I said "foot" when he actually had a broken arm.

Good Lord man do you hear yourself? None of what you've posted about this situation is correct, like at all.

-First of all, I didn't think someone calling you out on the "foot injury" was about you naming the wrong body part, it was about the fact that the guy sprained his fricking ankle. It's an actual injury, not some behind the scenes ploy to cut his PT.
-Your notion is completely idiotic from the outset. You think we had some sort of agreement to pull the senior JT for a the TFr sipmly because he was more talented? Did you forget stafford threw for 170 yards, 0 TD/3 INT that day?
-The next week, your savior threw for barely over 100 yards to friggin UAB
-The next week, he threw for 76 yards (!!!) in 3 quarters and got us down by 2 TDs to a bad colorado team. It was the other freshman that had to come in and save us.
-He was promptly benched the following week..for the other freshman
-Then when the senior was finally healthy again, he rightfully regained his starting spot because he deserved it at the time.

Your idea that we have potentially "made up" this injury to Parrish in order to give a younger guy PT is flat out absurd. It defies all logic and rational thinking.

Yes, it's based on watching him play a fair amount at cornerback for UGA. My guess is that Kirby Smart doesn't think he's ideally suited for that position either, or else he'd have stayed at cornerback last season,

Or he's a versatile player who knows all of the positions in the secondary, thus making him a valuable asset.

Not everyone who has ever played a position, or started at a position, is "SEC quality" at that position, at least not the way I use that phrase.

There's a difference between starting a game or two and then starting 30. Georgia isn't hurting for "SEC Quality" talent. Him starting that many games tells me he's a guy that the coaches (2 different staffs) need and want to be out there.

Good lord man...do you two guys see what YOU are doing? I have twice said I was throwing it out there to see how people react. Never said Stafford was my savior, but the masses WERE clamoring for Stafford. And JT3 still lost the job well before the end of the season.

You and djs REALLY need to cool your jets on the hyperbolic retorts and calling anyone with a different idea than yours an idiot. I claim no intellectual superiority over anyone here, nor should you, djs or anyone else for that matter.

The two of you spend most of your time here searching out shite that you can gain say and blast people for. That's a sad existence.

I threw out a postulation, djs focused on immaterial points; JT3 DID lose the job to Stafford well before the end of the season. YOU just decided to go full a-hole in blasting the whole idea and making up bullshite I didn't even say. Nowhere in ANY of my posts did I suggest that Stafford came in and did a thing great. I simply stated that the masses were clamoring for him and that JT3 never came back...which, I will admit was a factual inaccuracy, but the implication was that he still wasn't the starter for long when he did come back.

I've been that guy in my younger days...gotta jump on any little detail that I might be able to leverage against someone to make myself feel smarter or better than someone else...nobody likes that guy. I expect the typical retorts from both of you gentlemen, but you should understand that behaving the way you two do on this board will lead you to some very unpleasant issues if you also behave this way in everyday life. I sincerely pity the both of you for whatever happened to you to make you feel the need to play internet supergenius to feel good about yourselves.

You appear to be way too sensitive for the whole message board thing. Sometimes you make an inaccurate or silly post and it leads to being corrected. It's not a big deal when that happens.

This is true. I remember talk radio before and during the season talking about when JT3 was going to lose the job. They hype was real.

Sucks for Parrish. Sounds like JR Reed is playing really well.

Parrish is the best all around corner on the team. Hopefully he miss only a few weeks.

Hmm, thank goodness it doesn't sound serious because Parrish is the most underrated defender we have. I can't remember a better tackling corner and I don't think he's ever been burned in coverage. He's solid for sure, but I'm confident Davis can fill in nicely.

Davis, the walk-on we still doubt despite the fact 2 separate d-coordinators and 2 head coaches think the kid can play. I really proud of that guy.

Probably 4 weeks from three weeks from now. Just read that a bone in his foot is broken and he had surgery yesterday.

That's a big blow.

Parrish is one of the more underappreciated starters on our defense and is our top cover corner. One of my bigger concerns this season was depth at CB and we really don't have anyone with experience there now except for Davis and Baker.

I hope he's able to make a full recovery and come back 100% at some point this season because our secondary will be a hell of a lot better with him in the lineup.

In the press conference today Kirby said he'll be out 2-4 weeks and he hasn't been ruled out for the opener yet.

It'll be smart to keep him out of the opener and focus on ND. MP is very underrated by SEC standards and will be a solid no. 3 cb in the NFL.

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Georgia coach Kirby Smart says there is still a chance cornerback Malkom Parrish could be ready for the start of the season following surgery last week to repair a broken bone in his foot.

Smart said after Saturday's scrimmage that Parrish broke a ''small bone'' in his foot and will miss two to four weeks. Georgia plays Appalachian State on Sept. 2 in its opening game.

Parrish started 12 games in 2016 and ranked seventh on the team with 49 tackles.

Georgia is getting Aaron Davis ready to start at cornerback if Parrish is held out.

Reports of Lecounte coming on strong true. Jr reed transfer from Tulsa will start in place of davis at safety and Lecounte will play money or star I'm guessing. Maybe vice versa.
