Will any school have buyers remorse about not at least trying to get him.

Southern Cal I think would be the biggest one.

Kelly would be inept in the SEC, imo.

I can't see him without a job for to long. His agent's phone is probably ringing off the hook as we speak.

He will likely land on his feet somewhere out West. Heck if Charlie Strong and Kevin Sumlin continue to struggle I would not be surprised to see Kelly land at UT or A&M.

I remember SC fans mentioning him and I thought that was a bad fit for Columbia, or Athens.

Southern Cal, a Texas school, or mid-Atlantic ACC like UVA or VT would be a good fit for him back in college.

Good thing the vacant jobs in the SEC have been filled

He rolled the dice pretty big with his personnel moves none of which worked.

If I were a pro team I would be very hesitant to take a chance on him even though there will be at least 6 openings if not more IMO.

I'd hire him to coach.

As you mentioned, I would give him very little input on personnel.

Sorry, don't see any evidence to support that.I'd
hire em in 2 seconds.Much better fit for the college game anyway.

Oh he'd do just fine in the SEC and I'm so glad there aren't anymore vacancies. People said urban Meyer wouldn't fit in the sec too.

As I remember USC did contact Chip and he said no.

Also, I think he ends up with the Titans

Had a long one-on-one with J.J. a few seasons back. Nice guy. Reminds me of Ray Goff some. I hope he's there for years to come.

I bet Texas is sharpening their collective knives right about now. AU too. But I don't think CCK would be nearly as successful in the SEC as he has been. You have to know how to develop a stellar D in thus league.

Oregon had a very solid defense while he was there.
