Do you have to have a smart tv? I noticed walmart has some decent priced tvs also today/tomorrow.
You can buy the firestick on sale at amazon for $25. My firestick streams better for me than my smart tv.

Hisense 50H7GB2 50-Inch 4K Smart LED TV $548
Might be a bit smaller than what you want, but its around $150 cheaper.

I dont have a smart tv. Whats a fire stick? Oh and what all do I need to cut the cord? What channels/programs would I be losing? How much $ would I be saving?

The 2 tvs you listed were smart tvs.
You plug the firestick into the hdmi port on your tv and you can download all kinds of apps. (Netflix, Prime Video...) stuff like that. Kodi if you feel brave
Im not sure about the cord cutting. You can look into the Sling TV

Well, the 55" is a 4k TV and the 60" is just 1080P. I forgot to check the refresh rate but I'd give that a look.
Also, I saw you asked this earlier, may have already been answered, but 4K is the future. Yea, the media isn't all there yet but services like Netflix have moved there. I believe when costs go down you'll see live broadcasts move to 4K. It's more about being prepared for the future.
As for Smart TVs, that just means they connect to the internet and you can access services like Netflix, Hulu, and a litany of other apps from your TV. My Sony has it and frankly I hardly ever use it. If I want to use it I just use the xbox or apple TV and those are typically better at it anyway. The one benefit of having Netflix directly on my TV though is access to 4K content.
What I'd do if I were you, Spunk? I'd check the Best Buy open box specials. That is how I got my TV. The most irrational but awesome purchase I made was this summer when I got a 4K TV from Best Buy open box. They were about to put it up as a demo unit but they dented the back. Then, apparently, they already had a floor model so they were just putting it up somewhere else. I was there to get a Panasonic but got that instead. The downside is you don't get a box or remote or stand. Luckily for me the lady I worked with was great and she helped me by going in the back and getting all of that for me. Then they let me use all these coupons my dad had on top of it
I get hard just thinking about the process

Yes there is a big difference. However like some have said, there are not a lot of sources running 4k yet. A lot of the new android smart phones will film video in 4k, so you can play those on there. It will not be long though before everything goes 4k.

My parents got robbed over the weekend so my dad had to get some new TVs. He got two of the 4K types. I can't remember the size but it was at least 50"+. I have TV envy but at least I didn't get all my shite stolen. Atlanta, specifically Stone Mountain, is a fricking shite hole.

Also, these TVs come with upscaling so what you're getting is enhanced HD. Not a huge difference but it's different.
I also am a whore for TVs though

I wish someone would steal my old Tvs. You know the ones that weigh 200 plus pounds.

I ended up dragging my feet and wasn't able to take advantage of the Black Friday sales. Worked out well though, I was able to get a steal of a deal on two TVs in Stone Mountain this past weekend.
