OK, I'm going with my wife and baby, and my racist homo-hating parents.
PNW, I am editing this because I was drunk last night.

Coastal Kitchen (sit outside) and the Georgia Sea Grille are two musts. The Ocean Lodge has a rooftop restaurant. The view is great but the service can be a little slow because the kitchen is on the bottom floor. Hit the Village Inn and Pub for a drink and some live music. Murphy's is the bar where all the locals hang out. It reeks of smoke though so you or some of your peeps may not like that. Let me know if you need more.

PNW, tell me your favorite spots so I can be sure not to go there and accidentally get bit by a cum-aids mosquito.

Drop down to Jekyll. Driftwood beach was awesome! A $7 24 hour pass was more than worth it. I didn't even get to visit the historical places or the sea turtle center.

If you do make it to Jekyll, E-Dawg owns his own charter fishing business. He can put you on the fish but he's about as cool as a boner in sweatpants.

Sal's Neighborhood Pizzeria. Best pizza south of NY. Sal's a former pro boxer and is usually there. Has pics on the walls of his boxing career and posing with famous people. Southern Soul BBQ, Village Inn and Pub for drinks and entertainment, Halyard's, Crabdaddy's, The Half Shell, your in-laws might like Barbara Jeans (over-priced meat and 3).

My parents are cheap. Super cheap. Have plenty of money, but that old fashioned sense of cheapness that is rarer and rarer these days.
My dad dropped $10k on a trip to Venice Italy when he retired, but refused to buy beer or wine in any cafe's, because it was cheaper to buy it at a corner store and drink it at the condo.
What's the cheapest dirtiest bar in St. Simons, a place where a fight is most likely to break out? That's where he wants to go. Think "Low friends in low places".
But more importantly, since I'll have a 4 month old baby, where are family-friendly daytime type of places to eat shrimp and oysters, and not feel out of place with an infant? By 6pm we will be "in bed". Night spots really don't mean too much to me.

The Half Shell is "divish" but not necessarily cheap. Good oysters and drinks. Lots of other good dishes as well. Good location for tooling around town and early bed. Brogan's is a laid back bar food type place downtown as well. Gnat's Landing at Redfern Village is more suited for young adults, unless you get there early. Biggest dive on the Island is Beachcomber BBQ & Grill, near the K&P. You'll think you died and went to Hahira.

Not food spots, but definitely visit Jekyll if you have younguns with you. The Sea Turtle Center is pretty awesome and there are a lot of nice beaches (Driftwood being the king) to check out. You can drop some money and rent bikes/do a carriage tour around the historic part or you can go cheap and hoof it. As far as food on Jekyll, we've always liked Driftwood Bistro but there are some solid options around the island.

Ok, so basically what I'm getting is that I probably just shouldn't take this trip.
