I always forgot how beautiful that campus is. Also, they are drastically improving areas of Macon that desparately need it including building up the area around their football stadium. Tons of new development. Plus Mercer Village.
If you guys are in the Macon area I advise checking out what's happening on Mercer's campus. It's astounding.

My oldest had the good fortune to be in a position to choose between the two but ultimately went with UGA--starts this fall. Proud dad here.

Glad to hear. Mercer and Macon are assets to the state and both needed work. Macon's population is aging due to lots of the young people moving to Atlanta and elsewhere. Hopefully with some upgrades and good night life they can turn that trend around. The infrastructure is there with some really cool old buildings and homes. Macon just needs a new soul. The state's been trying to give it one for years.

Macon is also a giant cesspool of violence and drugs which obviously nobody wants to raise their kids around. So that also plays into the decline in population and overall cleanliness.
