That's where you went wrong. The roots need alot of room to grow, they don't do well in pots. I know there's a million people on the internet growing them in 5 gallon buckets. Follow up with them two years later and ask how their hops are doing.

You can do a first year plant in a pot and transplant later, but you aren't going to get a huge yield that first year.

I've looked into it, out of curiosity. I wouldn't want to do it in Georgia until they abolish the 3-tiered distribution law. RIght now, you have to go big or go home. You can't start as a nanobrewery and slowly build your business, unless you open it as a restaurant to build up your reputation, then shut down the restaurant so you can distribute through retail.

Too much startup, by design. In Georgia, and two other states.

Georgia so dumb.
