Sounds pretty cool. It gives them the room to potentially brew a LOT more beer then they do now. Plus it will be cool to see the Southern Mill renovated to something cool, while keeping some of the older feeling. Should set up for a much better outdoor area than they have now.

Great news. Great company. I've definitely done my part to help pay for the expansion.

About damn time. They've been operating at capacity for some time. Even though I've heard some of it is done intentionally. Great beers

Guess who is paying for it?

Like they can't afford their own equipment? They need the taxpayers to fund it? I might have to switch back to Terrapin.

Those aren't good for the economy like these business deals are.

Better than Terrapin.

They got a grant from ACC then sold out to MillerCoors.

Then I'll just have to go back to making my own.

Your own is probably better than both.

Although, I do love me some Tropicalia and Hopsicutioner.

Tropicalia

My go-to recipe was very similar to Tropicalia, I thought it was convenient to not have to make it anymore.

Maris-Otter base malt
Some C-40 and Vienna malt (substitute munich malt)

Columbus bittering
50/50 Cascade and Amarillo flavoring and finishing.
50/50 cascade and amarillo dry hopped

Force carb in my minikegs.

Age 4 weeks.

If naturally carbing, wait 8 weeks.

Deeprig's APA

Serve chilled, the flavors subtly change as the beer slowly warms in your glass.

Actually, it looks like you are good to drink your Terrapin. The deal actually fell through. Looks like Terrapin decided not to proceed.

ABH Article - 6//23/16

quote:

Under terms of an agreement outlined in documents produced from the open-records request, the county was set to provide $1.7 million in an escrow account the brewery could use to acquire two tracts, totaling nearly six acres, adjacent to its 265 Newton Bridge Road facility, and have a building constructed on the property.

quote:

Athens-Clarke County Mayor Nancy Denson and Cochran signed a draft agreement in April of last year, and the $350,000 allocation was approved as commissioners voted in June of last year to approve the budget for the fiscal year that began on July 1, 2015.

Moore said Thursday that, in the months since the current fiscal year’s budget was approved, Terrapin has not made any moves toward acquiring the additional land adjacent to its Newton Bridge Road site.

Let's start a brewery. Think we can get the county to spot us a few mil?

Rig, you end up with surplus at all or use all yours? I tried growing hops on our deck using a funky wrapped column method but didn't go well. Would be interested in brewing one of my beers this year with some locally grown hops.

Sidenote: Didn't realize we had other homebrewers on here... gotta get on some recipe and/or bottle sharing.

I havne't brewed in over two years.

That hops picture is from year 3. This is year 7. I havne't tended it in two years.

I'm moving soon, leaving it behind. If anyone wants it, you can come dig up a hell of a crown.
