I've got people visiting me this week and want to take them out for lunch/dinner in Savannah. What are some good places? It doesn't have to be seafood...

Nothing fancy... More casual, like Social Club.

Social is a great place. In that vein downtown there is Moon River, it's a brewery/restaurant with a great selection of their own beers. Green truck is a small burger place that seriously has some of the best burgers i've ever had. Crystal Beer Parlor is another really good Bistro with their own beer.

Depends what you're looking for

Downtown -

Green truck - burger joint kinda away from historic district but awesome
Treylor Park
CO - new thai fusion place on whitaker off bay
Bohemian/cotton sail - great views of the river and drinks/food
Zunzis - was on americas best sandwich for the "conquistador"
Sorry Charlies - pretty good seafood
Molly McPhersons - Best pub food in savannah
Tequilas Town - Best mexican
Ordinary Pub - New restaurant pretty good.

upscale downtown-

Chive - seafood $$
Alligator soul - best restaurant in savannah IMO $$$
Vic's - $$$
Jazz'd - Tapas $$$
Chart House - chain but always a legit meal - $$
Garibaldis - $$$
Pink House - $$

Great options ^^

Two of my favorite restaurants are actually on Tybee...80 east gastro pub and Sundae Cafe. The pub is a little more laid back, great beer, wings, entrees. Sundae Cafe is a little more upscale but is simply incredible...seafood and non-seafood.

I'll add that the Pink House is phenomenal and is reasonably priced for the quality.

Alure and The Grey isn't too bad.

Pink House isn't that expensive or upscale...

Another suggestion would to head down the coast along US17. Lots of small out of the way places that have some great food and atmosphere. Speeds Kitchen at Shellmans, Sunbury Crab Company in Liberty County. Also B&Js, Skippers or Mudcat Charlies in Darien. Well worth the drive, imo.

Vic's had one of the best filets that I've ever tasted. I asked for it rare, and it was grilled perfectly. I'll always stop back by when I'm in Savannah.

I had some chicken salad at the Pirates' House once that gave me the squirts all the way to Charleston. Good times...

Was gonna mention the Pirates House for the history and decor. Haven't been to Savannah in years so didn't know for sur it was still there.
I'm not a fan of chains, but Chart House is a great dining experience. I've been to several around the country and each is just different enough to be a new experience.

What do you know about Sandfly BBQ? Its near Jalapeños I believe on the Isle of Hope. Close to one of my parks...

Pretty tasty. Won't blow your doors off but pretty good. Especially for BBQ made by white people. The dining area is pretty small. If you're looking to stay in Sandfly, I would do Driftaway or Fiore.
