OT Best long running cartoon - South Park vs The Simpsons

Has South Park taken over as a better all around series? I would probably take the first 15 seasons of The Simpsons over SP, but over all SP hasn't gone downhill nearly as bad as The Simpsons.
Thoughts?
No Futurama isn't better than either don't start.

I can give props to the Simpsons for longevity but I never watched it the way I watch South Park. I love it. especially when they switched to making fun of current events

Wow. I always saw South Park being for degenerates and gutter trash.

Got to be South Park..both the prior and current season have been comedy gold.

The earlier years of the simpsons, ep 4-8 or so, are really good and can compete w/ Southpark. I haven't watched much of their newer stuff but seen a few of it but thought it was meh. Maybe it was just bad episodes, hopefully.

I was a big Simpson's fan. Simpson's started going downhill at the same time South Park started getting better.
They are different. Because South Park was on comedy central, they had more leeway to take the comedy further. Simpsons had to keep it cleaner. ETA... for the millenials... at the time, Comedy Central was still a relatively obscure channel. The Daily Show wasn't famous yet.

Also, I hate futurama and find it unwatchable.

Futurama is pretty good, King of the Hill used to be good then they started to go down hill as Hank always found something to whine and complain about (what a bitch). Rick and Morty is really good. I think they can compete with Southpark.
Bobs Burgers is another good one, Archer is supposed to be pretty good but I haven't seen too much of it.

Simpsons hands down. My daughter and I were talking tonight how it was one of the best written shows of all time.

Yeah.... I miss Futurama a lot.... I like South Park over the Simpsons for sure... even though the humor can be beyond sick at times...
