You have no idea what it means to be a man until you have a daughter....that little girl will have you willingly doing things you would have never even knew existed in just a few months...and you will be the one who thinks them up!!!
Having a son is wonderful and it is the right and responsibility of a man to continue the family name....but having a daughter is a LUXURY....a Son is like an F250...great and something you needed....but that little girl is like a luxury convertible...something that makes your heart and your fancy soar....
If this is your first daughter you have no idea what love means...you know what loving your wife, your sons, your mom and dad is....but the love you will have in you for that little girl is like nothing you can begin to imagine....you are truly a blessed man!!! Congrats!!!

Well said, German.
We have a 9-year old son, a 5-year old daughter, and a 10-month old son. One thing I can tell you is that my little girl has me wrapped around her finger, far tighter than the other two do (and I love them both beyond measure). Part of it is just the expectation of the boys growing into men and moving on to do their own things; but somehow, I feel like that little girl is going to ALWAYS need her daddy. And I couldn't be happier about that fact.

I have two granddaughters. Never having a daughter, the oldest knows Pa-Pa will give her anything she wants.
My son, from the minute he was born, was going to do what he wanted to do. It was difficult to teach him.
It involved phrases like...
"Yeah, that's sharp".
"Yeah, that's hot".
"I wouldn't have done that".
I spent a week last summer in a cottage off 30A. The first day,I heard the Ice cream truck. "La Cuckaracha". Weird song for a ice cream truck.
I told my granddaughter "hands". She reached up, took my hand and we walked outside. She caught on real quick. The next afternoon, she pointed at what she wanted and I let her pay. By the third day, when she heard the melody playing on the loudspeaker, she walked across the room and took my hand and smiled.
I wiped my eyes.
