Obviously we're a long ways off from 2017, having not even started the 2016 season, but we all know Fredi's on the hot seat. He's been on the hot seat for at least two years, and I know that the Fredi haters outweigh Fredi fanatics. Almost certainly, the team won't do well this season, and we'll move on from Fredi. He's had his moments, I like him for what he's done for the organization (encouraged the Kimbrel trade after hearing the haul we'd get in return, despite knowing it'd cost him wins) and how he's put the organization before his job, but as a manager, he's made countless decisions that made us cringe. Question is...with all the talk this offseason about how great a manager he will be someday, would Eddie Perez be a move that would be unanimously supported, or would people just think it's the same old Braves, promoting another Bobby Cox disciple? I'd love to hear what y'all think...

In addition, I'm jacked (channeling my inner-Dan Quinn) about this season and the future. Obviously many games will be tough to watch, but surely some of the pitching prospects will make their major league debuts this year, and for that, I have a ton of excitement. Jenkins, Blair, even Newcomb could all be up here by the end of the year. The John's have done a masterful job rebuilding this organization. It's sucked a lot (the Heyward, Simmons, Kimbrel trades all felt like getting punched right in the wiener, and even the Prado trade for Upton hurt a lot) and will continue to suck, but here's to a productive, if not successful 2016 for the Braves

IIRC, Eddie Perez was really well respected in the clubhouse as a player. Getting the respect of the players is the majority of a manager's job. I could get on board with an Eddie Perez hire.

Honestly though, this team is probably 3-4 years away from actual contention unless a lot of these prospects actually turn into legit players quickly.

New team, new stadium, should be new coach too IMO... going to be a rough year, but future is looking bright. Hopefully Fredi won't be around to hold the future back.

The goal of ownership of being a contender by the new stadium date is a pipe dream.

Fredi (no great shakes) will get the ax. Throwing Perez to the wolves would do him a grave disservice although would get him in the manager's club.

The errors of the prior GM Wren has really set this franchise back many years.

I wouldn't say many years. Maybe 3-4. It's kind of blessing really because it caused us to go into a full rebuild instead of making the playoffs once every three years and getting bounced in the first round. The new regime has young arms stockpiled so hopefully once those guys mature we can make some deeper runs. I look for 2018 to be the year we make it back to the postseason

Please.Wren gets way too much blame for the state of the Braves.Made some good
moves (Justin Upton,Chris Johnson,Bourne) and some not so good moves (BJ,Derrick
Lowe)

Can't blame him for Uggla totally losing it or two of his best pitchers (Medlen and Beachy)
blowing their arms out TWICEHartrt

He also signed or drafted some outstanding talent...Freeman,Simmons,Kimbrell,Medlen,Beachy,Gattis
Heyward, etc. Detroit is the only other farm system that produced more MLB talent than the Braves over
Wren's tenure.

Hart had the fire sale and was probably the right thing to do for the long term IF all these prospects
Pan out.
