I'm in the Classic city this week and the place is over run with hipsters.....I have never seen so many man buns in my life. I spend a lot of time in Austen and Boulder and there are hipsters there but good lord Athens is over run with hipsters!
That being said I want to go to a few tap houses and looking for suggestions, preferably with as few man buns as possible.
Also I am looking for somewhere between Mobile and Houston that sales blue crabs .....steamed or boiled and preferably with the shell still on....cleaning before they are cooked loses all the good stuff...
Any suggestions?

Trappeze is the GOAT tap house (double pig sandiwch and a staggering amount of beer available)

College town with hipsters? Mind blown.

The Winder Applebee's is right up your alley.
Regarding your request for blue crab restaurants on I-10, go frick yourself.
Did someone spike your drink with a bitch pill?

I ain't complained about africking thing....just made an observation. I haven't had the good fortune to spend anytime in Athens in 9 years more than a weekend here and there and I was merely commenting on the number of frickers running around with man buns....
So I take it you have no ideas about beer in Athens....good show!

Trappeze looks good. I will definitely give me a look! Thanks!

I lived in Athens from 1993 -1997 and tentavily plan to return someday if I ever do come back to the south for good. When we lived here summer belonged to the locals....Madison county, Oconeen county....Barrow County....that sort of thing. I would not have been as amazed at the number of hipsters still in town in October, let's say........but for July place is crawling with folks I bet ain't from Comer.......

Someon wound his bun too tight and has his scrotum pulled passed his sphincter.....

Germandawg, When you're taking flak, it means you're over the target.
If you think about it, make some mental notes about each ale that you sample while in the corridor. Maybe scribble some notes on a cocktail napkin including whatever stupid name the man-buns have given it, so that you can review them for us here on the GSB eventually.
I for one, trust your instincts on this topic and look forward to your insight.

you realize that the hipsters are great for the beer and restaurant scene in Athens right? If you want to hang out with a bunch of white rednecks that are 40+ head over to downtown Winder.

This is the correct answer. The staff is a little odd, but the beer selection is on point.

Just look for the tennis shoes strung up on the power lines. In case anyone else thought this was a trap house thread.

Friend, Athens has been full of hipsters since before 'hipster' was a word...possibly the birthplace of hipsters.

Athens created hipsters most likely
