The SEC OT board was a waste of time for this question.
Will be in MB this weekend for a volleyball tournament my 8th grader is in. I got a hotel for the entire family since it's the offseason and it's the beach who doesn't want to go to the beach????
Any ideas on some stuff to get involved in while we are there? I'm not trying to get involved in a medieval times dinner and the guns and roses cover band playing at the house of blues ain't going to work for an 8 year old.
Somebody help me out I'm trying to avoid trip advisor here. Thanks my friends.

There used to be a amusement patk, but I think they might have torn it down.
Lots of good restaurants.
Just go down to the boardwalk/Pavillion...lots of shite to do.
I believe Ripley has an aquarium as well

Summer destination in February is going to yield things like medieval times and guns and roses cover band.
Not sure what you are looking for here.

Gonna be cold and rainy too.
Maybe just hang out at the HoJo and watch Wheel of Fortune.

The best I got out of the OT was try margaritaville. I guess casting a wider net doesn't always yield better results.

February sucks on the Atlantic coast. It's gonna be cold. Barefoot landing is probably your best bet. There's an indoor water park somewhere in MB

It's supposed to be 74 degrees. Thats great weather for February
I'll wait until that one local sees the thread

Go down to the board walk. Some of it will be closed but there are some fun arcades and it's just a pretty cool scene. It's classic MB.
If you have any golfers that's always an option and rates are cheap this time of year.
There's an aquarium that's pretty good at Broadway or Barefoot I believe....plus tons of other shite like Ripleys, putt putt, etc. Don't be afraid to cheese it up because that's what MB is good at.

Based on his first sentence, I'd say yeah, he recommends that for you.

There used to be a Waddaburger in North Myrtle Beach. Worth the trip if it is still there...

Crocodile Rocks piano bar at Broadway at the Beach. Was there on a business trip/safety conference a few years ago. Group I was with were talking about a piano bar and I was like does my redneck self belong in a piano bar. But it wasnt what I was thinking. It was freaking awesome!!

If your kids like zoo animals, Brookgreen Gardens is pretty awesome. It's a pretty beautiful place overall.
Also, if you head down there, stop by Painter's Ice Cream.

My kids loved the Ripley's aquarium there, make sure you ride in the boat with the glass floor over the sharks there. It was a really cool experience

The 'ol Dyrty Myrtle? There are far better beaches in SC to visit.

Make the short drive up to Calabash for some good seafood!

Just make sure it isn't on an orange crush type of weekend.

Obviously, due to his reason for going, he doesn't have a lot of choice.
Last time I was there was 2010 and the amusement park was still there then. Not sure now.
Ripley's should be worth a look. And the indoor water parks (I believe there are a few) shouldn't be crowded this time of year. If you try those in the summer, it's like being a piece of white rice in pot of gumbo.
