So here in Shreveport (Sunday, 22NOV2015) after The Walking Dead ended, my local news station said, according to their sources, Les is out not matter what at end of season. Their list for potentials: Fisher, Dabo, someone I forgot, and Gruden......

So I guess that 15 mil buyout isn't a big deal?

*Entire State University System is floundering finically*

*Proceeds to build an 85 million dollar lazy river and pay a 15 mil buyout*

Classic.

I will be pretty surprised if Miles is let go.

1. LSU isn't exactly swimming in extra money.

2. Though Miles doesn't seem like the sharpest tack on the bulletin board, he has won a NC at LSU and has a damn good overall record. He definitely needs to hire some better assistants though. It looks like they are missing Chavis more than expected.

Oh, I agree. But it now seems the local news stations are drinking tRant koolaid being spewed. Gruden's name was really on the local news cast as a candidate!

They were cheap on Chavis and then they're gonna pay 15 mil for Les' buyout. It's so incredibly dumb... and I'm loving every second of it.

Maybe. But I doubt it.

Dabo is waiting for Saban to retire, and Gruden is making too much money calling one game a week to go coach a college team and work his arse off recruiting.

TCU Coach Gary Patterson was the other name mentioned. Evidently the Tiger Athletic Foundation foots the bill on the buyout and allegedly it is not supposed to be that big of a deal. LINK

Athletic budgets are completely different pools of money from academic budgets. You can't funnel money from one budget to the other. Different funding sources, different rules. Apples and oranges.

Maybe not the state university system but the LSU Athletic Dept is doing just fine. One of the few schools who have no student fees for athletics. Bama and UGA both do BTW.

I'd love for them to get Gruden just to expose the myth that he is some kind of coaching god

If they do fire Miles and eat a $15 mil buyout, they better be making a grand slam hire. I actually don't think LSU will find someone who is an upgrade over Miles but kudos to them for being unwilling to accept perceived mediocrity.

It's not just mediocrity... It is losing to your biggest rival 7 out 9 try's.

how woudl they know this?

The people making this decision would be the AD, president, and I'm guessing a very select few people that are all in that same inner circle. How would a news outlet know this info?

A booster who wants him out having a proxy leak it to gain momentum and make him respond to the chatter...

Whenever I see Gruden's name mentioned in an article, I take the entire piece with a grain of salt. Chucky ain't getting back into coaching college.

ESPN is reporting rumors now too...

A source told Joe Schad there is a chance that LSU coach Les Miles could be fired by the end of the day.

I will wait to hear something from a reliable source like Peter Buck, if you don't mind.
