I believe the guy's name is Phil Jackson

We don't have the two best players in the league so he wouldn't work out very well in Atlanta.

Phil Jackson on THj just two months ago: LINK /

“Tim Hardaway has been both good and average at certain times, but he has a bright future,’’ Jackson said. “He’s a solidifying guard who can move to small forward or guard.’’

So try again, Whopper.

And then he traded him. Every coach/GM talks up his players, there is only downside if you do not. The real proof of opinion is not the talk, but the walk.

Converting the 16th pick in the draft to a back up shooting guard is a bit rough. It is the first time out of the personnel gate for these boys. Bud is a very good coach, but that doesn't make him a good GM. Some can do both, most can't, but he has the opportunity to prove he can. Let's hope he does.

Or, Hardaway was drafted by a different GM to run in Mike Woodson's offense, and since Phil took over and runs the Triangle, maybe Hardaway doesn't fit well in his scheme.

Fisher, Jackson, and Melo have all said good things about THj and Melo specifically said he's upset about the trade because THj was beginning to come into his own.

I'd bet Phil traded him because he wasn't suited for his Triangle offense. Either way, I have faith in Coach Bud. Carroll, Korver, and Millsap were all average players not known for playing defense, and now Carroll is a defensive gem, Korver is a top 3 shooter in the league, and Millsap is about to get an $18M or higher contract.

May be so. I would suggest that if a team wanted one of our backup guards for in essence the 19th pick, we would jump at the chance with the possibly exception of Dennis.
