Just days before the July 4 holiday, large fireworks sales become legal for the first time in Georgia. The Georgia Department of Insurance had received more than 200 applications early last week.

About damn time. Glad to see the craft beer laws slowing getting looser too

And they've only approved 2 locations statewide so far that can sell them...

State officials and fireworks companies are racing the clock to approve store applications to peddle the pyrotechnics, but as of Friday only two of 205 applications had been approved.

It's better than nothing I guess

Wonder how long those border stores will last. They had to know this was coming eventually

Yup... Imma only 25 miles from the bammer line so it's not been a big deal for me. I could run to the 1st exit on I-20 near Heflin, shop for an hour & be back home in less than 2 hrs. Been hearing a ton of ads on the radio from some seller with stores in Cusseta Al. & Seneca SC on 85 the last month. Guess they're tryin' to get that last big pop...

Now you will have the opportunity to set your neighbors bushes on fire and risk life and limb like we do here in SC!

Had that same thing when I live in Georgetown. I'd drive up the Bang Bang Lady on the way to Columbus.

driving up 75 from S FL last night, I saw the fireworks store on I 75; let me know I was about at the state line.

Those big stores at exit 110 off I 20 in AL will be hurt badly, I can't see all of them making it...

I agree. That was their sole business model, GA customers

Should be a nice tax bump for the state as well

Are they selling cherry bombs and TNTs? When I was a kid those things were great.

Forgive me but you guys need some help. The following is for novices...

Raise your US, Rebel or a Rainbow flag...

Then....load up on triple and double mortar boxes that boast maximum explosives allowed under the law. Also buy a couple of finale boxes....but the medium sized boxes are where the money is because they put on quite a show for a pretty good price. Buy some sparklers and snaps for the kids.

Haggle...if you're a playa and spend some real money they'll give you free shite.

Avoid the packages as they give you a bunch of little shite that is worthless.

Then....get some cinder blocks and pull your garden hose to the launch site as a a risk management measure. Lock those boxes down with blocks because they will fall over and launch projectiles down your driveway. This happened to me once and watching grandparents grab kids running for cover is something you don't want to see unless you want to relive Iwo Jima.

Use the mortars to fill space between the boxes to keep shite running. Also...buy some of those long grill lighters if you don't want to suffer 2nd degree burns to your thumb.

Pot the mortar tubes inside of the cinder blocks to avoid getting grenaded when they fail....and they will. Shits made in China.

You know you're shits dialed in when you hear the neighbor kids scream or hear cheers from the next block or you get into the challenge phase with your neighbors. Just like war...money rules so you pool your money to bring more artillery to the battle and you will prevail.

Turn on your sprinklers when finished and watch closely for smoke in your bushes or landscaping.

That's all I got.
