The funny thing is that you are implying that replacing an elite team with a weak opponent wouldn't make a difference in how a season Turns out. Point is, You have no room to call anyone an idiot.

Anyone who says "well if you took off the best team we played and replaced them with a crappy team so we'd be better" doesn't deserve to be listened to anymore.

Not that you ever did anyway to begin with.

What happened in 2012 seems to support my claim. It makes more sense than you are willing to admit.

ORLY?

UF went 39-11 (78%) 97-00 [donnan]
UF went 48-7 (87%) 06-09 [richt]

1 donnan win, 1 richt win

UT went 41-9 (82%) 97-00 [donnan]
UT went 39-13 (75%) 01-04 [richt]

1 Donnan win, 3 Richt wins

GT went 37-14 (73%) 97-00 [donnan]
GT went 35-18 (66%) 06-09 [richt]

1 donnan win, 3 richt wins

Nice try, but Going back to 2001 for UT and 2006 for GTU and UF isn't recent. At least try to take the current calendar year into account. 2009-2012, 2010-2013, 2011-2014 are the 4 year periods you should look into for a recent 4 year comparison.

The big point that you have completely ignored, and I'm quite sure why, is the rest of my earlier point.

My point was about UF, UT, and GTU, and I said "I will move on to other opponents after these 3 get sorted out." Since we haven't finished discussing them yet, no reason to move onto other distractions.

One of the best ways to distract from the main point is to introduce other ones, and only a fool would fall for this strategy of yours.

Winning % rank 97-00:

UT: 6th
UF: 8th
GTU: 14th

11-14:

GTU: 42nd
UF: 53th
UT: 82nd

hey dumbfrick, how many teams do we play in a season? 3? No wait, that can't be right. Typically anywhere between 11 and 14 or so, right?

So tell me why our data set should only include the 3 teams that you have chosen at random? I'll wait until you can give me a legitimate response to that, and why we should ignore EVERY OTHER TEAM that both coaches have played on a regular basis.

Ahhh another Grayson Lambert read. Nowhere did I say to fire him today. We won't fire him because we are cowards.

We play divisional foes and tech every year, and No one is ignoring the other teams, but rather waiting to discuss them AFTER the original point has been sufficiently discussed. Its absurd that you have a problem with this. Staying on topic shouldn't be hard.

If you want to discuss the rest ASAP, quit beating around the bush, and discuss these 3 annual rivals who are highly important to The east race and instate. I posted some facts for consumption above.

This is beyond pathetic but I guess it's gonna take adding Au, U.K., sc, vandy, and ole miss/miZZOU to get WG to respond again. Hopefully the numbers don't continue to prove his retort wrong in such embarrassing fashion, or else he will never come back.

We've averaged 10 wins a year since he's been here.

Last 5 years record vs ranked teams is 8-15 if you include the Bama game. During that same span, we lost 7 games to unranked teams. How is that good? Anyone can beat cupcakes, but vs actual good teams, we suck with Richt at the helm. During that time he is 2-3 in bowl games. A losing record vs ranked teams is sucking. No way for you spin that one.

In that EVERY OTHER TEAM that richt is playing is tougher now than then. It's not about 2 or 3 games per year, it's about every single game top to bottom om the schedule.

Are they? Lets see how much BS you are spewing here.........naturally limiting this to teams we play every year.

Winning % rank 97-00:

UT: 6th
UF: 8th
GTU: 14th
OM (v MZ): 29
AU: 48th
UK: 69th
SC: 96
VU: 100

11-14:

SC: 11th
Mizzou (v OM): 26th
GTU: 42nd
AU: 47th
UF: 53th
V: 62nd
UT: 82nd
UK: 107

Ranking from top to Bottom:

6 vs 11 - Donnan
8 vs 26 - Donnan
14 vs 42 - Donnan
29 vs 47 - Donnan
48 vs 53 - Donnan
69 vs 62 - Richt
96 vs 82 - Richt
100 vs 107 - Donnan

6-2 Donnan

Verdict = Your post was full of BS:

- UF, UT, GTU, UK are MUCH worse
- Only SC and Vandy are MUCH better
- AU and OM/Mizzou are about the same.

quote:

It is not even remotely, somehwat, slightly, kinda, sorta, anywhere close in comparing the toughness of richt's schedules to donnan's.

Is this where insulting flames are supposed to be inserted? It would only make sense considering how wrong you were, but I am not gonna stoop to that pathetic level you enjoy so much.

did not see where there was play calling snafus or clock management issues.

Whatever play calls we had led to a lot of punts and open WRs. We wasted time outs like crazy. We even had a penalty before the final play, which took away that final time out.

How dare you come on here on challenge the all knowing WG dawg. Seriously though , he typically bullies his point home until people get tired of debating him but you....you interloper from the Scout realm, have crushed his assertions in this thread.

Having bantered with you for years, I knew when you joined here that you and WG were a match made in heaven. Happened sooner than I thought it would.

"Marky Mark" has been the most successful coach Georgia has ever had.

Once again, by what metric? Given that at least two of his competitors have national titles, to his none, it's an uphill argument to say "most successful".

Why does everyone assume we will suck if we fire Richt?

He is the Alpha and Omega of coaches. The ne plus ultra. The knight sans reproche. The Platonic Ideal. Hence, *any* other coach, even a clone of Mark Richt, will be massively inferior.
