If he has been (or will be) offered the head job, I cannot imagine any scenario in which he would NOT jump at it. Outside of replacing Saban at Bama, the UGA job as it stands now is as good a situation for a long time coordinator to make the leap to HC as any job anywhere at anytime I can remember.
Add that he played here and it's as big a no-brainer as you can imagine.

Probably right about Pruitt, but I would love having him stick around. A Pruitt/Smart pairing would = a defense (and a defensive recruiting class) for the ages.
