Once a proud program, the UGA Gym Dogs are abysmal under Danna Durante

Yea, yea... Yoculan left the cupboard empty. No excuses anymore.
I don't know how this woman has a job, much less in Athens. Gym Dogs just lost to Missouri with a low score of 195.350. UGA is now 1-3 on the year and they haven't even faced Florida, Alabama, or Lsu yet. Durante is now 20-20-1 overall as a head coach in Athens.
With the loss, the Dogs will likely fall to around #20 in the polls (polls are based on average scores, not W/L). I don't necessarily keep up with the program, but I find it pretty shocking to see a team rarely ranked outside Top 3 under Yoculan to hoping to be in the top 20.
It's year #4 for Durante, and it seems like she is progressively stagnating the once proud Gym Dogs into a below average squad.

How so? The Gym Dogs are UGA's #2 profitable athletic program, and they draw sellout crowds every home meet. The same can not be said for basketball.

As long as she gets her chores done at home and looks good in yoga pants, she has my full support.

This is certainly not due to current performance. Maintaining a .500 record will certainly result in those sellouts going away.

Plus they aren't anywhere near more profitable than the basketball team. They average higher attendance but the b-ball team has way more games.

Not making a claim one way or the other, but simply based on # of games you cannot make this assertion. Profit implies both revenue generated and then accounting for cost of operating. More games = more total revenue, but the cost per event and total operational costs of the program are likely higher for basketball.

You are correct that it is more complicated than just total number of games, but the Men's basketball team is significantly more profitable than the gymnastics team. By a wide margin. Obviously you have to back out the expenses for security, parking, building management, etc. but those exist for both sports basically equally, so it isn't relevant to the question of which is more profitable.
There are six gymnastics events in Stegeman and 18 men's basketball games in Stegeman this season.
Gymnastics doesn't average three times the attendance of men's basketball, which it would need to do to equal the attendance number for hoops.
Additionally, basketball tickets cost far more thus making UGA more money obviously. Typically gymnastics tickets are 10 for adults, 6 for youth. Typically men's b-ball tickets are 15 for everyone.
Sorry, but basketball makes UGA way more money. I just wish the team was as historically successful as the gymdogs.

Profit really doesnt come from ticket sales in sports. Most the money to be maid comes from corporate sponsorships. That said, not sure I believe the gym dawgs make more than basketball.

You'd be correct, they don't. The ticket sales was just an illustration of how it's misleading to think the gym dogs averaging higher attendance is relevant.
TV is where the money is at in NCAA athletics. As mediocre as UGA hoops is, does anyone think the gym dogs draw similar tv viewership as an SEC basketball game?
