They need to trade or just cut Avilon (spelling?). Every time he comes in a game, the Braves immediately lose it.

I like Callaspo for some reason...the guys calling the game last night said it was rumored to have been a deal including up to 6 players...honestly..we are pretty set at third with CJ coming back and the young guy that has been playing the past few games...im glad he rejected...

question....why do you guys think that EYjr has not been playing much?...I like him in the outfield...his bat struggles sometimes but his base running is excellent when he is on...I like Gomes a lot, but he sometimes irritates me in left...

The real quality in this deal is Withrow. Probably won't pitch this year due to TJ but he is a stud. I'm really surprised they threw him in there.

Only one I regret losing is Ian Davis, although Withrow more than makes up for that. We aren't going to be winning much this year anyways, I don't mind giving up a little now for high upside in 2016-2018.

yeah so the deal went through....36 yr old 3rd baseman that was buried on another depth chart and we take him for a pitcher that might come in handy next season IF he recovers properly from TJ surgery....meanwhile...Tim Hudson tosses against us tonight.....

I don't like it

Callaspo wasnt exactly lighting it on fire, his slugging% had to be like .200. CJ will be traded soon, hopefully. PEreza comes up, Jace moves to third.

And idk if you have noticed but our bullpen is fricking terrible so we need as many arms as we can get. Even if he have to wait till next year. Good trade.

diff topic...Folty is a fricking beast.

I am just glad we have finally cut the cord with Eric Stults (aka the human pinata) because watching him and Cahill surrender 10 runs in 5 innings last Friday night was cruel and unusual punishment.

I know Arizona picked up $6.5 million of the $12 million Cahill is owed this year, but I have a hard time we will find anyone willing to take him off our hands before the trade deadline. The silver lining is that we can deny his option for 2016 and 2017 and it will only be $800k in total.

Not World Series bound. More like Gutter Bound it seems.

They're playing better than most thought they would. If our bullpen wasn't so shitty we would be at least 5 games over .500. I'll take it.

Even though the braves split with the Giants, it feels as though they won the series. Great win for Atlanta yesterday in front of 41k+ and the 354th consecutive sellout for the Giants.

Back to .500

This team is awesome. Uribe has been an amazing pick up. Masset has been a welcomed surprise in the bullpen. Swept the mets without Freddie. Julio looked like the Julio from last year AND. We trade raped the d-backs. Great week for the bravos

It's crazy considering we thought we were going to watch a dumpster fire from start to finish. Can you imagine if the bullpen wasn't dog shite? We wouldn't just lead the NL East but battling at the front of the NL. It is AWESOME not being entirely reliant on the long ball.

Fredi is still a dork but I am enjoying Mr Hart

No doubt about the long ball man. Refreshing to see some some old school baseball. Small ball working well for the Royals right now. Crazy what can happen when you focus on making contact. Wonder how many games we have had 10+ Ks compared to last year at this point. Bullpen is still kind of a smoldering dumpster fire but if we can just tread water until we get some of arms healthy we might could make a run at the wild card.

Hart has been awesome. Him and the young guy Coppolla or whatever seem to know what they are doing. Hope they don't turn into buyers at the deadline though.

The exciting thing is that today's team is a shell of what the front office is trying to build. Lots of guys getting on base, solid pitching staff, good defense.

The last couple years you could look at the team's individual batting averages and maybe one of two (usually just Freddie) was batting over .270. I love to see the higher OBP and team average. We have a stellar track record of putting together dominant bullpens, so I'm not super concerned about that past this year.

With Wisler and Folty coming up, some of the tommy john acquisitions coming back, and a pretty young staff to begin with, there could be some really good times ahead. I am excited!

Also, Jace Peterson is awesome. Love that guy.
