Maybe a LT just needs a heart and soul to protect the QB.
Look at Isaiah Thomas the Celtics player. No way in hell he should be able to do what he does at a midget size.

Maybe he'll have a lower center of gravity after adding 20 pounds?

If they're planning to run the ball 50 times per game, maybe they want the smaller faster LT that can get down to block low at the next level instead of the traditional pocket protection LT.

I'd be willing to bet that Andrew Thomas starts before Wilson.

I know this sounds odd, but I like Wynn better as a OT in college. He's super athletic and can deal with most college pass rushers despite his lack of length. In the run game, it's easier for him to move a 260 lb dude than a 320 lb dude. He's been pretty decent at LT when he's played it, imo.

Yup. You or me could block Jadeveon Clowney if we just believed and tried really hard.

We could also fly to Neverland

Speaking of other issues, kin with an awful snap leading to a big loss at the end of the 3rd. Drive killer.

I'm with you. I like him better at LT or C than G due to his size. He is a reliable pass protector (great pass rushers can get him... but he is more consistent than anyone else in years). Play him against smaller guys and he will be fine. Facing off against interior DL is asking for problems with our run blocking.

I think he will hold up better this year with the 15-20 pound weight gain

Sure, but he still isn't as big as we'd like to be inside.

Freshman Andrew Thomas is getting 1st team reps while Wynn is out for unknown reasons. Wilson and Big Ben Cleveland was working at right tackle. The spots on the line that seems secured is Gaillard at Center and Kindley at right guard. Thomas has been getting praise since the Army All-American game Do y'all think Thomas and Wilson will break the 2 deep rotation for significant pt? If so think they are good enough to lead the Dawgs to the SECCG?

I think Thomas and Wilson are in the starting lineup at some point this season, but it probably won't be from game 1. That'd have us with 3 freshmen on the OL, assuming Kindley starts, not ideal early in the season.

Why not, OOC schedule is the best time to gain experience before we start conference play.

The media are only allowed a short window of time in the practices, very little you can glean about the lineup, especially OL where you shuffle around to cross train guys for depth purposes, and it's also an exercise in understand the roles of those around you as well as your own, to make you a more cohesive unit.

The OL looks to becoming more clearer.

Wynn - Thomas
Sims - Allen
Galliard - Barnes
Kindley - loser of RT battle
Cleveland/Wilson/Hayes

Thomas is being prepped to take over LT sometime in the future. Allen seems like the utility lineman. Possibly rs Shaffer and Netori for depth for next season.
