And unable to win a close game

Fire him. He needed a signature win and came up short, again.

do you frickers not understand timing? jesus christ pick your spots, there are plenty of them. this isn't one of them.

Lost to a top 15 team without our best player. Sucks it seems we can't win a close game, but I'm not sure how you fault Fox for today.

I understand 0-6 against South Carolina, Florida and Kentucky.

Exactly. This thread needs to be a JJ dick sucking thread.

So because he took an already underperforming NIT team and almost knocked off UK, we should halt any talks of firing him?

Timing? This is just one of a multitude of times we play just well enough to lose. I'm simply no longer impressed with this type of loss.
This brings us to 6-8 in a bad conference. We have two of the best players in the league (except for Maten in this game) and a decent supporting cast.
How is this bad timing to be disappointed? This was the last of a waning last gasp to get to the Tourney and we lost like we always do against good teams.
Seems like good timing to me.

8 years. That enough time for you?

Improvement over 8 years from a dumpster fire is long enough to grant him a few more years

If this was his third year, maybe I'd be impressed with how the team rallied. Instead, I'm now wondering what he's doing with a team that could play Kentucky to the wire without Maten, when we lose the exact same way to every team with a pulse with Maten.
Maybe, just maybe, it's our coach. 8 years and it's the same thing. Just play well enough to lose - everything except our coach that is.
I'll give him another year, since I have to. But c'mon. If he can't win next year we never, ever will. I'd rather not win with some other coach at this point.

Is probably missing the NIT really what we call improvement these days? What a time to be alive

McGarity has to go first, otherwise we'll likely end up with an even worse coach.

The state of our program has definitely improved under Fox's tenure and in all reality this team had unrealistic expectations. Losing 4 year starters and producers in Gaines and Mann would make me think we'd be worse than last year and with a tougher schedule it seems to be turning out that way.

THIS is what everyone should be bitching about.
The dude is trash.
to all you "ppl" that want Fox fired, keep your eyes on the baseball program. We are fricking terrible. and our baseball program actually has a reputation of being good, unlike the bball program.
Our footballl program took a nose-dive.
our gymnastics suck (PNW)
It all starts with Ears McGarity.
Can we get WG to snapchat him a picture of our collective ball sack?

Gaines and Mann
Exhibits A and B why I have lost faith in Coach Fox. Last year we had the most veteran backfield I can remember in a very, very long time. Two large guards with four years of quality experience, including a point guard with NBA size in Mann.
And they were liabilities all year. Making critical mistakes in the closing minutes and failing to be clutch when they need to be - time and time again. As seniors. It was to the point that I was actually relieved to see them go, because their backups couldn't be worse or more frustrating to watch. And they haven't been.
Now you'll tell me it was Mann and Gaines' fault since they weren't very good, and we should be grateful Coach Fox got what he did out of them.
And with your next breath you'll post that we should be grateful Coach Fox has us at 6-8 in the conference after we lost our senior backcourt tandem from last year.
Maybe so. But then I do believe Coach Fox probably has a role in recruiting.
Hey - whatever, I'm over him.

Point is, it's time to move on with a fresh start.
