Literally everyone is underestimating UGA's future and we are hauling in the #2 class while retaining our whole backfield minus IMac. I think the other SEC fanbases are going to be shocked next year; we could easily get 9-10 wins with the rest of the conference underperforming. Hopefully UGA will be the sleeping giant we've hoped for.

Agree we will be better and likely win the east, but feel like 2018 will be "our year" with all the on campus and incoming talent.

Nobody on earth will be shocked if we win 9 games next year

I disagree... I think some fans at least are concerned that the level of coaching didn't match the level of talent this year. I think a lot of us are cautiously optimistic that the coaching will improve. There is no doubt the talent level will likely improve.

It matched the level of roster quality we had this year. Both will improve in year 2.

Level of Talent (Peter) vs Roster Quality (DJ)

We are getting to the marrow of this.

The biggest thing holding me back about next season is that tubby bastard of an OC. Also our receivers aren't really a bright spot

If we can run the football when the opponent wants to stuff the run, then we can be great.

That is how games are won.

The QB is needed for those 4th quarter drives. But without the threat of the running game... even that gets tough.

"Likely" is an understatement.Unless we get wholesale
decomitts from this class we'll have 60+ 4 and 5 star/top 300 players on the roster.Not sure we've ever
had that many and I believe we'll be 2nd to Bama in the conference.

Depending on who goes pro next year we'll have around 7 to 8 drafted and 2 maybe 3 1st rounders.

I agree with most of whats being said here...its East title or bust next year.

Seriously, we out gun everyone else in the East, some by a wide margin.

We are basically int he same position as Tenn was last year. We will have to see if we can do better with the hype then they did lol

I used the word likely as there are no certainties in recruiting. Both with commitments and living up to the hype when strapping a hat on in college. Still, the math works pretty strongly in UGAs favor in this aspect...

Yeah man I wish our coaching would of been up to par with our talent on the Oline, then we might of done something.

I think we have the potential to be good next year, but our main problem this season was the Oline play. We are losing 3 starters and it will be hard to expect them to play well all season. I'm sure there will be some growing pains as well. However, on the positive, we do have a JUCO OLineman coming in and 2 highly rated OT freshman as well. Hopefully one or two of these guys can play well enough in their 1st year at UGA. Maybe a few returning guys can take that next step up and we can have improved Oline play.

Also year 2 for Eason can negate some of these problems, but against the elite we need to have them play at least average. I also think our WRs are a weak spot, but they could improve a lot too (as long as we limit drops). I'm not sure if we have enough talent coming in this class to improve enough at both of these positions. However, 2018 is going to set up nicely for us. I also think our DEF can take the next step up and be elite to where they will bail us out if we struggle a game or two on offense.

We have somehow got to find an o-line that can get some movement up front.

If you think talent alone was our issue on O-line you weren't watching the last 4 games. They were put in a far better posistion to succeed than the 1st 2/3 rd of the year

Catalina leaving is possibly the greatest thing to happen for this line.

Also our line is finally beefing up so hopefully there's some merit to having some fatasses blocking up front.

I have full confidence in pittman, but you can't fit square pegs in round holes. If we left Pyke at RG his whole career he could have been a very solid draft pick, he's a natural born guard. Out of necessity we had to play him at RT. We took a chance on our anchor being a transfer from rhode island and he sucked. So we could either play him there becuase he was the best option, or move Wynn to LT, sit catalina on the bench and waste a scholly, then have both guard spots manned by people who were just ok or unknown.

Going forward we should be much better simply because we'll have the right pieces. I'm nto saying everyone is All-SEC caliber but at least our guards and tackles will actually be guards and tackles. We have a JUCO that should alreayd be better at LT than TC due to competition. We have a RT that is taylor made for the position that is one of the best tackles we've signed this decade. We will upgrade in size and strength at center (how often did kubs get manhandled?) and have 4 or 5 solid options (big ol boys) at guard.

But not great. Recruiting can only do so much. With Chaney and Eason I expect to see a continuation of bad play calling and poor QB play. I hope I'm wrong.
