Grew up 1 mile from Johnnys and I have known the Wallaces all my life. I have eaten at Johnnys in Powder Springs hundreds of times spanning a couple of decades but even with my biggest homer glasses on I can't honestly rate them or Wallaces any where near top 10 in Georgia. Evans is pretty good though and I agree on the bbq roll. Coupled with that sauce it is pretty damn good. I still rent a house a VR and I eat there at least once a month and then go across the street to Gulf Seafood Market and take some fish home.

Middle Georgia either Finchers or Fresh Air in Jackson. Old Clinton in Gray is not bad.

I had Biguns Saturday and it was really good.

I'm a fan of the Nest in Kennesaw.

Heirlooms was insanely good when work got it for us one night.

The wife and I finally got around to trying Das Barbecue in west Atlanta. The brisket was the best I've had in town.

So a friend and I tried out Community Q today. I went with the pork plate with the baked beans, he went with the brisket, mac & cheese, and fries.

I thought the pork was pretty bland and on the dry side, but the baked beans were fantastic. The brisket was above average, pretty juicy. The mac & cheese was bland, and the fries were okay. It tasted like they were seasoned with crumbled up bbq flavored potato chips.

I'd go again if I were in the neighborhood, but definitely not worth making a trip for.

I like Jim & Nick's BBQ in Hiram, GA, Character's Famous BBQ in Adairsville, and if I'm in Chattanooga I usually get Sticky Fingers...

Tried Briar Patch once. Got a pulled pork sandwich via the drive-thru, headed out into 120, opened my sandwich and took a bite. I had to slow my car down so that when I spit that nasty shite out my window it wouldn't get all over my car. It tasted like boiled pork with ketchup on it. Awful, brutally awful. Easily the worst BBQ I've ever had.
