It was talked about a lot this spring that he was practicing with the WRs and that it was likely going to happen, but I'm guessing its now official (in whatever way something like that can be made official)

He played the iMac role in the G-Day game with the 2nd team and looked very good.
I hope he becomes a major contributor in the offense the next couple of years. We could definitely use some big play ability.

Are they not going to count in 2017, Cracker?
Or are you speaking more in terms of when they are going to start to count for or against Kirby?
I think we are all pretty much in agreement that he gets to the 3rd year reagardless of on-field performance, but the 3rd year could write his new contract or get him pink-slipped.

2017 is more about gaining good experience and finishing strong and finishing the drill in 2018.

I think he was being sarcastic.
There's no reason to lower the expectations for 2017. Most coaches make the biggest jump from year 1 to year 2... so why not with CKS? The experience is there. All of the talented upperclassmen minus iMac are back. If Pittman is as good as his reputation suggests, the offensive line should be better.
Barring a disastrous collapse from injuries (like in 2013), this team not winning the East would be a total coaching failure.
