Once again heard him speak tonight. Most of you know most of the rumors and gossip but these are some points taken straight from his mouth tonight.

First and foremost he thinks Richts job is in jeopardy regarding a win or loss this weekend vs GT. The look in Marks eyes during the GSU game wasn't being upset with the score, or thinking about strategy, it was pure reality setting in that he knew when it was 14-7, he would not have a job the next day. Thinks Kirby Smart would really be in play if we came calling.

We asked about Eason if Richt were to leave. He acknowledged although he knows how bad we are struggling at QB, "you don't keep a coach, that needs to go, around just because of an unproven 18 year old."

Schotty, Pruitt, & Co-

He said he's heard it all. Every combination of firings has been talked about (the worst being Schotty and Richt stay, Pruitt gone). Pretty much what we've heard about Pruitt being extremely aggressive to win is true and it has taken some time to get used to. But on the same hand, it's tough to pitch that idea since the defense is all we have going for us. Basically he has NO idea what will happen and the GT game will have a lot riding on it.

Bobo -

He talks to mike regularly and they seem to be good friends. He said (without saying) that if bobo was still there, Ramsey would still be QB right now. Lambert was always supposed to be just insurance. Bobo was making 500k and was approached for the CSU job so figured it would be a good time as ever to ask for a raise. He didn't want to leave UGA. Richt asked the AD and was rejected. That's when bobo left and we actually hired Schotty and paid him 1,000,000$. Pretty pathetic.

Tax Slayer Bowl perhaps

Expects the final rankings to be

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Michigan State
4. Oklahoma

That's about it. Just some snippets from tonight.

Don't do this... The copy and paste club will find some sense of humor amongst their message board circle jerks, thus proving Jefferson to continue drinking and lying to his wife on a daily basis... He's a recovering alcoholic... Wink... Wink...

Damn, I hope this isn't true but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

God I hope so.

At least Mark gets it

I think at this point a majority of the media believes that Georgia should try a new avenue. For the first time ever too. Every major pundit and most the local media always downplayed the need to move on but it seems that the only ones holding out now are select members of the fan base who are a) stifled by fear or b) totally misguided in their loyalty to Richt over UGA. And then, of course, those who make way more money than me and have been in the arena.

Ignorance is bliss

I don't know if it's more annoying they wouldn't give Bobo a raise or that we pay Schotty $1M

I'm not sure if I believe this, but if true it's just one more reason to get rid of McGarity ASAP.

It was the start of the threatening to resign thing as he was also about to lose all his defensive coaches due to salaries... This was discussed here last Decemebr.

Is it misguided? I cant imagine a new coach having much legit success without a good QB. Eason really is our only hope at such an enigma.

I truly believe Richt getting another year comes down to Saturday at GT...IF we win..then he stays, if we lose, then I truly believe he "steps down".

Recruiting classes, be damned, getting rid of Richt trumps a bunch of 18 year olds.

No excuse to lose to Tech this year...100% none

This is all so obviously true, it doesn't even need to be analyzed. We have said this all before. Mike Bobo wouldn't have left had he gotten paid. When a 2nd year coordinator is brought in making substantially more than you after you have been setting records on offense, of course he is going to leave.

If you haven't already, one day you'll realize that there is a threshold to just how much you'll want to know about how things are run behind closed doors. Collegiate Athletics is one of the most insane, disorderly bumblefricks masquerading as a legitimate business around. I mean, you're talking about a sport that rises and falls on the most arbitrary decisions and actions of a bunch of young adults and their meathead tacticians. There is no sense in any of it and I love it completely for that reason. It's chaos theory at work, made even more chaotic by the fact that we are insistent upon finding some rhyme or reason in the way money should be spent or the types of coaches that should be hired. It's lunacy. Total beautiful lunacy.

.

I know a guy that was on staff for a while up until about 3 years ago. One day mcgarity called him into his office and read this guy the riot act, just totally undressed him, because he had put a UGA jersey on a mannequin on a recruiting visit. Apparently that's some sort of secondary (if not 10thary) violation and mcgarity was losing his mind about it.

That's the day I knew for certain we weren't committed like other schools. Thankfully, I truly do think that pruitt has changed things.

This better not be fricking true.

If so, maybe a Mountain vs The Viper GoT style public execution for McGarity.

There's so much inane crap like that that goes on and not just at UGA. You have to throw sanity out the window if you want to function in college athletics (professional isn't much better in a lot of cases, but they're helped by the fact that they can at least be honest about what they are; a corporate business trying to make money). Seriously, the general populace just doesn't need to know about some of the stuff that goes on behind closed doors. There's a reason Bama is VERY strict with its media; they have cultivated that "Built By Bama" image under Saban and they'll be damned to hell before they let any of the day-to-day antics of running an AD undermine that image. If anything, UGA hasn't quite figured out how to control the PR game the same way as Bama. Hell, Les Miles has worked so well for LSU because every crazy arse thing that goes on over there and gets leaked can just be chalked up to lovable Louisiana insanity. Georgia, on the other hand, is trying unsuccessfully to balance this austere country club brand with the sheer stupidity of college athletics. The two just don't work together.

I wonder what it'll take to ever change that. Part of me thinks that once old farts like mcgarity leave and a younger breed takes over we'll get more aggressive...but then I think that the current folks will be succeeded by people they've already been grooming to just carry on things business as usual.
