Per AJC

quote:

“I think they are a program on the descent, and I think it’s going to be interesting to see how long the coach stays. There are some guys you think, ‘Yeah, he’s going to be coaching when he’s 70.’ Steve Spurrier was never one of those guys for me, and it’s hard for me to envision him coaching much beyond this if he doesn’t think he has a chance to win, and I’m not sure he’s going to have a chance to win the next few years the way he’s had it the last few years.”

Spurrier had this to say about Bradley’s words:

“That’s allowing our enemies to write about us in our paper and I don’t like that,” Spurrier said.

He then made sure everyone knew who the enemy is.

“The media. The media,” Spurrier said. “We’ve got some enemies that write in the Atlanta paper. They cover the Bulldogs. We let that guy write in our paper the other day. That doesn’t make sense, does it?”

Seems like he's trying to fire up his players. Perhaps sensing some apathy or malaise in his team?

I get that feeling too. Which is really shows he's lost his ability to be a quality head coach. I mean resorting to this kindergarten bullshite just to get players hype for the sat of the season is a bad sign for things in Columbia. I, for one, can't wait for him to get destroyed this year.

Make no mistake he'll have them playing with their hair on fire against the Dawgs, even if they come into Sanford 0-2.

He is having a tough time recruiting right now, this is all about recruiting.

Secondly, according to Chuck and Chernoff, Spurrier called on all Cock fans in ATL to cancel their AJC subscriptions.

I didn't watch the presser, that's just what Chuch and Chernoff said this afternoon so take it with a grain of salt.

I believe it, based on the fact he banned the Myrtle Beach newspaper from the program a few years ago because he didn't like one of their articles that criticized him.

So he's saying Bradley is a defacto Bulldawg huh?

That's about the last thing he is and far from a friend of the program.

AJC's been destroying us for years with Bradley and Schultz leading the way.Bill Kings not much better with his online blog.

Has gotten a little better with Seth Emerson coming on board.

I'd go so far to say the no team in the SEC gets worse coverage from their local big time paper.

Kim Jong-sos. I don't recall seeing the ole' ball sack this rattled in the offseason before. Is it the truth stinging?

I heard he just executed his Strength coach in front of the whole team with an anti aircraft gun. For insolence.

I'm sure some people will be like "aw man this is classic spurrier! What'll this crazy guy do next!?!?" but in reality this is just sad. Calling a hasty impromptu press conference.....to disparge what writers have said in a newspaper in another state? My Lord. this is like watching jerry rice play for the seahawks. A complete and total reversal of how things used to be back in the heyday when they were on top of the universe. It's sad really.

And for those that think "aw man spurrier REALLY has it out for us now, he's gonna bring something special for our game!!" ummmm no..he's always had it out for us. He's not going to be trying any harder now than he would have if the AJC didn't exist. We'll always get his best shot.

Spurrier will never get over getting his butt kicked by Georgia in his Heisman year. That's where his hate comes from.

"After decades of disappointment, fortune finally seemed to smile on Florida football in 1966. The heroics of a hotshot All-American quarterback named Steven Orr Spurrier had put the Gators on a winning path heading into Jacksonville for the annual tilt with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Florida was riding an eight-game win streak and ranked No. 7 in the nation. Goals in Gainesville included the Gators' first-ever undefeated season and SEC championship. The key to it all was senior signal-caller Spurrier, who had already become a legend among Florida faithful. His passing skills and on-the-field savvy had transformed the Gators passing attack one of the most powerful in the nation."

SOB could always dish it out. Guess his skin is a little too thin to take it when the shoe is on the other foot.

That's the part I dislike about him. He takes more public shots at other coaches and institutions than anyone in the profession. Call him out and he cries like a bleeding bitch...

I want us to bitch slap the Cocks just because Spurrier is there. I want us to beat them so bad that he just quits before the night is over.
I want him to be so humiliated that he calls his wife and tells her to sell the house because he is ashamed to show his face in Columbia.
Other than that, I like him.

Finally watched the Spurrier emergency press conference... Thought it was going to be worse after hearing all the reaction everywhere beforehand though.

Pretty revealing that he mentions a Vince Dooley quote from 25 years ago....which must of cut him pretty bad.

He's probably got the most immature and childish of motivations of any coach ever. But, it works.

Spurrier is a prick. Always has been. Enjoyable though. I'll miss him, he is on his last legs. If the cocks get thumped like most think they will, it very well could be his last voyage which is all Bradley is saying.

I find Bradley mostly on point. With Schultz more of a mix but more of a smart arse which I of course enjoy.
