Keith Marshall isn't having a good night either: 5 attempts, -1 yards, -0.2 avg

Great young man and athlete who I wish could have a long professional career. But his body seems a little too fragile for it. Maybe that'll change.

Has a great off season looks to be pushing for serious playing time and then this happens. He has the worst luck hope for a speedy recovery

Really sucks for him. He was playing well in the 2nd qtr before that. Hope he has a quick recovery and is back out there.

What's the expected recovery time on something like this?

It's not as bad as they originally thought, X-Rays were negative and the elbow popped back in place. Early estimates are that he'll be out 4 weeks, although he hasn't had an MRI yet.

Will he make the roster being out 4 weeks?

I think he very well could. Julian Edleman reinjured his foot so I think that works to MM's advantage.

I would agree. I'd like to think he's shown enough promise to already be worth the risk. You just have to wonder if other guys could step up and overtake him during the preseason.

Local media has interviewed MM after camp up here one day last week. CBB doesn't like talking to media nor does he like his players to. For him to allow MM to speak to media says something positive about Malcolm.

ETA In other local news David Andrews is taking almost all first team reps and could very well be the starter.

Probably. If not, someone else would definitely pick him up.

I imagine he will. He's a 3rd round pick right? Do teams usually give up on picks that high if they have a preseason injury?

I'm pretty sure he was an UDFA but don't quote me.
CBB has picked some DGDs over the years. Richard Seymour, Ben Watson, now David Andrews and Malcolm. All DGDs.

My guess would be no. But honestly, I just don't know.

Just looked it up, he was a 4th round pick.

I imagine he made enough of a good impression during camp that he would still have a roster spot after this injury.

My impression from hearing what I'm hearing (I'm no insider) just saying the thing like media interviews for a ROOKIE in Belichick's system. It seems like he's made an impression.

I think he was set up to play a lot. Was getting reps with the 1s.
