He's wearing some kind of black pullover that you might wear snow skiing. Zipped all the way up around his neck. In 97 degree heat.

I walk every a.m. with a guy who was a coach at Jacksonville St.(near Anniston) for years... He wears a long sleeve pullover every day... Don't know how he does it...

Thought both Ramsey and Bauta looked sharp but Lambert struggled. Not just with timing and things like that but the ball just didn't come out of his hand well today. Several underthrown balls and a few wobbly passes that were high. Will have more specifics later.

- Malcolm Mitchell is as good as I've ever seen him. He skied to make a catch on a dig route from Faton Bauta and it was really impressive.

- Overall, I came away most impressed with the receivers, believe it or not. I'll explain more later.

- Keith Marshall appears to have shed even more weight than the spring. He looked really light on his feet.

- Jeb Blazevich and Jay Rome are clearly the alphas at tight end. Leaders of the group who caught everything thrown there way from what I saw.

- Saw some really good things out of Tim Kimbrough today in coverage. Made a couple of very instinctive plays.

- Malkom Parrish and Reggie Davis had some battles in a passing drill they were working on. Davis tried to beat him deep a couple of times but Parrish was able to hold tight coverage.

- Young DBs struggled some against the more experienced receivers. Shakenneth Williams "Randy Moss'ed" Juwuan Briscoe on a deep route. Ball was a little underthrown and Williams just went over him to get it.

- Kirby Choates was getting an earful from Jeremy Pruitt during that passing drill for not keying on the tight end. Earful may be an understatement.

- In a drill where the defense was working on fun fits in nickel personnel, Floyd was at star, Jenkins and Carter at OLB. Floyd is in excellent shape.

I know it's to display toughness and whatnot, but I mean at some point you'd think they'd say "man, this is too hot". I doubt the players will think he's soft for wearing short sleeves.

If you've ever seen any of our latin american brothers spreading pine straw they wear full sleeves, pants, hats and bandannas in 100 degree heat....all day.

You're either a badass or you're not...

The quote about Kimbrough makes me happy. We're going to need him to be big this year.
