Lilly laughed when asked about the "exuberance" of co-special teams coach Mike Ekeler, who almost gave safety Rico McGraw a concussion celebrating a big special teams play against Auburn. "We were talking about that in the offensive staff room the other night, and I said man, when something good happens, really anywhere, and he's looking for someone running up and down the sideline to hi-five, I'm like you're not tearing my labrum," Lilly said. "I stay away from him until we kick the extra point or wait till things die down and I'll go up to him and say "Hey Ek, good job." I let him calm down, let the adrenaline get down, because I don't want my arm tore out of my socket. But no, he's an enthusiastic guy."

I think I need to worry more about the kid getting a concussion from a slap while wearing a helmet. That doesn't make sense to me.

It does seem like a strange event. These guys hit way hard than Ekeler's hand. Guess he caught him just right

Looks like he wasn't braced for the force of his hand and it was able to do a little damage. Would have been nothing if he had been prepared for it.

Not exactly. Erk banged his own bare head against helmets of players who were expection the force. If anyone was going to be concussed it would be Erk.

Ekeler just seems to be a moron.
