More jonboat tales...
Those are honest great stories.
Tell me...what's it like being in a boat that drafts what? 6in's? Looking at the wake of a freighter? How big of a wake is that at water level?

If you look at the beam of that little boat you'll have your answer.
Those boats are stable as hell, that's how he's had it in all of those different conditions. I love them for that.

Drafts about 3 inches.
The benches are foam filled, and can displace more water than what the boat weighs, so it is technically unsinkable.
However, being flipped over in an inlet and getting sucked out to see in the outgoing tide is still a very real possibility, whether the boat sinks or not.
Lessons.
ETA- you are sitting basically at water level. The waves were probably 6 feet, as swells. But we were on the dropoff to the channel, on a shelf, which is where the waves buck up into cresting beasts. It was absolutely terrifying. Imagine what you see in movies for a tidal wave, and shrink it down to just 6 ft high. And when you come down off the back of one, you are going right into the bottom of the next one, and the next one, and the next one. Absolutely frightened. If you've ever felt like you've seen a ghost, or alien, or walked up on a bear in the woods unarmed with nobody to hear you scream, just frozen in terror.
ETA #2- I'm remembering more now. We were in the shallows, heading toward a buoy the locals called "The grillage" which is a big dropoff where big fish hang out. There was a bayboat with a T top at the bouy, I was heading for him. It was a calm day.
All of a sudden, I see his boat disappear. Then I see it re-appear. Then disappear. Then re-appear. I suddenly realized there was some fricked up wake heading to me. That's when I tried to turn around. The engine was revving, but we weren't moving. Had the random burlap sack not been in the prop, I could have scooted off just in time. But I didn't have time to figure out wtf was wrong, just had to try and stay pointed into the waves so as to not capsize. It was after the waves calmed down that I could pull up the motor and realize/fix the wheat sack around the prop.

Playing with Imgur app, testing test test 1,2
Before buying the edger attachment for weedeater, tested its ability to edge and it worked but dangerous. Im gonna roll with it for now.
Also is the mailbox i replaced after wife backed over it two weeks after we moved in. Not many rose blooms but I just cut off 20 dead ones. Next week there will be 20 more.

In the future, you need to check in here before starting these projects.
Your iPhone has a level app that comes on it. So, you just dig the hole, put your phone on top of the mailbox until it's reading 0 degrees level, then brace it with some 2x4s on enough sides to keep it in place and level. And pour the concrete in the hole. And crack McSnoots while it dries.

Next year with a pre-emergent. I didn't move in here til April and missed window of opportunity. There's stuff I could do now but would hurt the bermuda.
