It's a lawn off not a bed and shrub off you bastards.
I've been dealing with that damn hill since I moved in. Poison Ivey invaded my English Ivy so I think I need to kill them all. Every year I get every weed and briar known to man growing in that shite.
Plus it's ENGLISH Ivey climbing an Oak you dumbass. With a cedar and tulip poplar. Also, my wife manages the hydrangeas and I've been instructed not to trim as they bloom from old growth. I did hit them with Holly Tone to get the blooms blue.
The grass is boss... you know it.

Lawnmower battery died.
Can't get screws off terminals. Luckily neighbor is on vacation so ive got some time... his grass as ling as mine.
Flat tire with sidewall leak ... flex seal did not fix.
New tire $150.
Grayson Ag-pro instead put a tube in it for me for $27.
I was ready to go, put in key to crank, engine turned over once and quit.
Ive got a plan.

My plan B failed. Need to buy a new push mower. Everybody telling me Honda.
Need recommendations, you have until 9am tomorrow morning to make a recommendation.

You really have no business critiquing anyone's lawn if you don't have a functioning mower, edger, blower and weed eater by July 1st - gas preferred.
I can't comment on push mower either - I've been riding for 12 years and will never go back.

To be fair, all of those were functional until halfway through June.
Push mower because i have culdesac lot with not a whole lot to mow. Rider came from old house with a whole lot more to mow. Push mower cheaper than repairing rider that I don't need. Just moved in April.

I just got home with my new Troybuilt and paid the extra for the honda motor. Pics after I put it into action.. maybe i can score a point in the contest.

Where's Dallas, how many points does he have?
Posted on 7/2/17 at 1:17 pm to deeprig9
I'm not able to see Dallas's pictures for some reason. SOmebody who remembers what they looked like will need to score them.

They were really nice, He should be the leader. He also conceded that he is retired and has nothing better to do, implying its not really fair. So if you want to dock points from him for this, or give extra credit to working parents for their content, I wouldn't disagree and neither would Dallas.
The one problem with Dallas is that his Crepe Myrtle isn't expected to bloom until August, but every other Crepe Myrtle in GA is already blooming. So, he has yet to answer for that. It's a legitimate concern.

Nobody will ever beat Dallas at a Lawn/Garden Off, so the scoreboard is pretty much just for show.
Dallas will eventually crown the winner (=second place winner) once all entries are in and when he feels like it.

I still have my trusty 1970's Lawn Boy
Damn thing has an aluminum deck and is pretty indestructible. Still smokes but that is Lawn Boy using a higher oil ratio and my small engine guy says it actually makes the engine last longer. Use the same mix on all my gas powered things like chain saw and weed eater and all have been running for at least several decades, so seems the guy is right.
When all the lawn mowers get merged by the bean counters they went to like 2 - 3 manufactures in the whole world (under different brand names of course) and the metal decks became pretty much universal. See folks in the neighborhood who get a few years use and then the deck rots out and have to buy a new one.
D-400 engine just keeps cutting the lawn decade after decade.

Fence built, painting is a bitch.
Alot more to paint, but progress is being made.
New lawnmower works great.
Alot of work to do in the backyard.
These are "before" pictures, but end of summer I hope to have some great "after" pics.

Nice that you have the woods in the back. Also...I see the sweetgum balls....good luck with that! I just had 3 big ones taken out of my back yard and it was one of the best days of my adult life.
Question - why did you zig zag the fence off the house rather than straight out and back?

Sweetgums on neighbor's property. Balls drop on mine.
The zig zag is also because the property line goes off diagonally, culdesac lot. Instead of a straight line along property line, I prefer straight lines and right angles.
ETA that side of the house is really close to the property line, my driveway is actually poured over the neighbor's line. It goes really close to that side of the house. So I zig zagged out to it. It' hard to explain.
