Here's UVA vs FL State 2014 with all the commercials and bullshite edited out..........
LINK.........
Highlights: Lambert's first and most of 2nd quarter will get you fired up.
Lowlights: Fast forward to the 20:51 minute mark at end of 2nd quarter ,though, if you want to come crashing back down to earth.
Regardless, it's like everyone is saying.... Our offense is so much more well rounded and conservative. I believe Lambert probaby had more passing attempts for more than 5 yards in this first half of this game than mason had all last year. Haven't watched 2nd half yet..

3rd quarter Lambert face-melter at the 44:25 minute mark.....
Anybody know how to link youtube clips at a specific point in the video instead of just at the beginning? I've seen it done, so i know it's possible.

as you mentioned...the gap between UVA's talent and UGA's talent is extreme. Good lord.

To link a point in time on Youtube video
1) start video you would like to watch
2) go to the time where you would like to link
3) right click the time bar when video is queued to the specific time
4) select "copy video URL at current time"
5) profit

frick.....
I'm confused as shite now. There's a lot to like, but there's also a lot to scare the shite out of you. Aside from the pick 6 Lambert threw at end of 2nd quarter, there should have been probably two more that were dropped by FSU.
I'm basically praying for Peace at this moment.

Question for people more knowledgeable than myself: how does his arm strength look?
From what I've read online it sounds like he has more arm strength than Mason but not a Stafford like cannon.
Of course arm strength isn't everything (I'd kill for a repeat of Mason's numbers this year) but this isn't something I'm great at assessing visually.
Let's say Mason was a 3 in arm strength and Stafford was a 9, maybe Murray was a 6.5. Where is Lambert?

Based on tape, I would say 6.5-7. He can sling it when his footwork is there, but a lot of his throws seemed to come off his back foot and kind of floated.

read my post on Coach Neuheisel's report on UGA. He said this morning that Lambert threw out routes like an NFL talent QB....

I am concerned but not very...how many times have we seen the NFL take players that didn't do so well in College and turn them into super heroes in the pros? Maybe CSchott can do that for GL?
Hey! Can you tell I'm on my Pre-season high!?

Wasn't Lambert sacked like 6 times this game as well. That's a lot of hits to take and continue to stand in the pocket with some confidence. That wasn't a terrible game for him by any means.
ETA: Just looked it up. It was only 4 sacks with a couple of hurries.

Four sacks would be enough to ruffle my feathers.

I just watched that whole game. I don't know what to think. He has an accurate arm but he has horrible happy-feet syndrome. He never fully sets up and throws, his feet are always moving. Sometimes he throws off the back foot, sometimes off the front. And he stares down whomever he's throwing to.
But then again, that UVA OL was horrible. He had pressure in his face every play. Plus his RB's were absolutely no threat at all. They missed holes and practically just fell over for no reason half the time. So of course he's going to get a bull rush from the DL every down. The only thing working was their passing game.
He has potential I think. He just needs to stand tall in the pocket and get set before he throws. His ball spins good and stays super tight in the air, so it should be a good ball to catch. I think he will have more time to throw and less concern for getting hit here. And hopefully that's all he needed to elevate his game.

9 - 6.5 = 2.5
2.5 divided by 2 = 1.25
So....
Lambert is approximately at 7.75....between the Murray and stafford. IMO

Can confirm - that is definitely math

One of the things to watch about QB's isn't always just arm strength. Touch and spin of the ball are a huge factor.
When a ball is thrown wrong or loose, it has a vibration to it, almost a very slight wobble, and it's actually more difficult to grip when it hits your hands. It's subtle, but it makes a difference.
When it's thrown right, you can see it. It spins super tight like its inside a vacuum hose, almost like a spin inside of a spin.
Now add touch to that... meaning proper velocity or speed when it's appropriate, and it can make all the difference in the world.
Lambert has good spin and touch from what I can tell. And he can do it on his deep balls, which is why I feel really good about his arm. I just have a problem with his foot movement and propensity to panic and just sling it up when he's under pressure.
