The Knoxville homer view from John Adams, writer for the News Sentinel. The comment about this not being a particularly talented UGA team is interesting...

"Tennessee has to beat Georgia to have a successful season, because it’s not going to beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Given UT’s talent, a 7-5 season would be a failure. But if Tennessee plays up to its potential, there’s no reason it can’t beat Georgia. This isn’t one of Richt’s more talented teams, and lesser Tennessee teams than this one have played better Georgia teams close."

Prediction: "With Tennessee playing at home, this is a game it should win. But then, you could say the same for its home losses to Oklahoma and Arkansas."

No way the should have beaten OU or beat us. They can but it's not a should.

After Saturday's display poor discipline, poor special teams and poor QB play there is no way that I would bet on Georgia against the Vols. I think the game is about equal, or at least I hope it is.

Sounds like you haven't seen UT play

But yeah, we aren't a sure win by any stretch.

All I know is we better not kick the ball to the Berry twin that returns kicks for them.

This is something you gotta love about our fan base....we are optimists to a fault..when we see a glass half filled with water we see Herschel Walker bowling I've Bill Bates on the way to our NATTY!!!!

UT game doesn't matter....our realistic goal was always the Belk bowl....we can make it to Charlotte with 4 and maybe 5 losses. I don't know who those would be to because Florida looks like the only winner on the schedule but GSU would sure like nothing better....

What fan base is not optimistic to a fault? Even shitty teams think they'll do better than they actually do.

Sure, it's not a sure win by any stretch but Tennessee and reeling and can't stop the run. I expect a pretty ugly win here. Won't be surprised to see us remain dejected from last Saturday though.

I was cautiously optimistic about the Bama game. We weren't prepared for their front 7. If we don't beat UT, CMR and staff should have to board a different bus bound for somewhere other than Athens.

We're going to roll against TN. FL will be the battle.

I think the humiliating loss to AL will motivate our guys, especially the offensive line. Surely we'll get more of a ground game going than we did last Saturday, and hopefully Lambert will do enough to keep UT's defense honest.

But playing a desperate UT in their stadium...it's hard to be overly confident, considering how bad we were in most phases of the game against Alabama (some of which was due to Alabama's elite defense....and some of which was our own doing).

If we roll, then it means UT has already given up on their season.

I'm not going to be the delusional fan here. If we win, it will be very very close. This team went into Gainesville, and should have won the game. Something Ole Miss who was unable to do.
