We had to have a win here. Georgia fans showed out on the road, and a lot of players came back for their senior season for this. We lose this game and the doubts set in.

But winning on the road at South Bend with a true freshman QB getting his first start?

And people start t believe.

Definitely good for the team and the program. Some underwhelming games coming up. Have to get better if we want to win meaningful games this year.

Only if it shows the team what they need to fix to be great and only if the team responds by improving. If we clean things up, there are very few teams on our schedule that can beat us

I think a lot of people are glancing over Miss St this year. Obviously Samford should be a tune up game next week, but beyond that... Miss St, Tennessee, Mizzou... maybe not world beaters, but every one of them is going to give you their best shot. Not to mention playing *in* fricking Kneeland... let's just get through them with W's and healthy.

Our defense was dominant. The offense was hit and miss.

I'd have loved to see a better offensive performance but at the end of the day we went on the road and pulled out a win as a 6.5 point underdog on prime time width a freshman QB.

Sometimes it helps a team come together to play shitty and just gut one of these games out. Maybe it will galvanize them.

That's the hope. This next week may be Kirby's biggest coaching test yet. Got to keep the team grounded and get them working

We needed this win as a program as bad as a team has ever neede a win. Lose this game and it is the same old same old.....ND ain't winning any national title this year but that is a decent football team intent on winning in their house.....and we gutted it out. Since the 2012 SEC CG we lose most of these kinds of games....we didn't do so tonight!

Yes we have issues and yes we are going to lose some close games this season....but tonight is as good a win as we have had as a program in at least a couple of seasons and I for one am going to savior it for what it was....a good game between two teams trying to improve and the DAWGS came out on top.....

Sometimes the best thing to do is just to keep chopping wood.
