He did really good in the bowl game last year against a highly rated defense. I like Lilly as a recruiter and if he was promoted I wouldn't be angry or anything. I just think that the new coach will bring in his own offensive staff, so that probably won't happen.

Interesting dynamics for sure. Pruitt holds all the cards as he's the only coach all fans are behind. His "win at all costs" attitude may turn off the BM machine but us suckers paying big $$ (relative to our income) expect that from guys making $7 figures.

And dam Richt- what a class guy. Trying to hold our class together while getting fired is dam impressive. He's the real deal imo. Don't think I've ever respected a man's true integrity more.

Yeah, a bit different then when Calipari left Memphis for big blue and stole that recruiting class.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better man in the profession than richt.

Hugh Freeze, Jimbo Fisher, Dabo Swinney, etc...........

Are we not even going to contact any of actual head coaches to see if they'd jump ship for UGA?

Why is the list of possible replacements different from when it looked like LSU was going to dump Les Miles? They acted like any coach in the country would walk out of their current job to go to Baton Rouge...........yet all we are hearing in Athens is fricking Kirby Smart and Dan Mullen?

What the frick is going on?

frick Hugh Freeze.

Jimbo I'd make myself love despite his broken moral compass.

Dabo... Get back to me.

The only realistic name I heard was Jimbo Fisher, and that was because he is supposedly on the rocks at FSU.

To get any currently entrenched HC, UGA (and LSU, had they chosen to) would have to pay a king's ransom - Like multiple millions more per year - vs hiring someone like Smart.

UGA and LSU are quite interchangeable, I don't think you would see any bigger names come out of the woodwork for them unless they were simply willing to pay much more than we are.

Perhaps we're not quite as delusional as they are (surprising as that may be, I know)?

Fuente already went to Va Tech, Herman has no Southern attachment (and is staying in Texas), Jimbo isn't leaving FSU (or so he says), and there's really nobody else left in the South that isn't in year one or terrible.

Sadly that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe they really wanted Herman or Smart, but as a top tier program you have to at least make the call. Georgia doesn't appear to want to spend the money it would take to lure them away though.

If Herman was the main target, we could up his salary by $2m easy

To $5M per year? That would be insane.

Doesn't Gruden have a brother that lives in Athens or something?

In our fricking subconscious where they had best stay. Gruden is a trap hire reserved for UTk and nobody else.
