Yeah, focused on it heavily both yesterday and today on DN daily podcast... I think it's a little overblown. He also says something to the effect of "I look at him no differently than I did Eason last year"...

I do think it's a bit of a veiled comment to Eason, but ultimately we knew that Fromm coming in was supposed to help push Eason to where he needs to get. Not terribly surprising that Kirby may try to leverage it a bit.

I believe that Kirby will probably let the QBs compete early in season before settling on a starter. Eason's 2016 performances were not impressive enough to guarantee him anything.

I'm afraid as long as we have Cheney, it won't matter who is behind center. The skill guy's we had last year were cheated repeatedly by Cheneys play calling.

While Chanye does suck a fat dick, Eason made some very shitty throws last year. His deep ball needs major work and he lacks really good touch. That pic that cost us the Tech game gives me nightmares.

Eason is the starter going into this fall, but if he hasn't progressed, then anything goes.

I was excited when this came out. Then I realized how bad Brandon Adams was. I get that it's tough to put out podcast content every day, and it's even harder in the offseason, but he's just bad. I miss the Seth and Gentry show.

I agree that Eason needs to improve dramatically this year. Not sure having two true Frosh starters back to back would be a good thing though.

Why the lone downvote? I just posted an article I thought would be of interest. I am in no way saying that I support any conclusions that this guy is trying to make.

Tough crowd.

You guys kill me cracking on Eason. Remind me again how many games Fromm won in the playoffs last year, oh that's right with all of his leadership they didn't even make the playoffs.

Kinda hard to make consistent throws when your offensive line is in your lap the whole game. He reminded me of 2015 Matt Ryan. Constantly worried about which hole the d line was going to penetrate next.

Fromm should have showed better leadership when he gave up 55 and 42 points in consecutive weeks!!

Fromm is not going to start next year. The best thing we could do is get another QB transfer in and redshirt Fromm. That way we get possibly 2 years of him after Eason ala DJ Shockley.

Having back to back true freshmen starters might be better than the alternative if Eason continues to move poorly in the pocket and throw late off-target passes.

Hopefully, Eason delivers on the promise that he showed in his first G-Day game.

Eason to 2015 Matty Ice comparison is spot on. Here's to hoping we are making similar comparisons this time next year to 2016 Matty Ice.

I'll be first to say Eason didn't live up to the hype but when you run off center twice in a row and find yourself in a 3rd and 10-12, every SOB that played madden knows we're throwing doesn't exactly create an advantage or mismatch, let alone give a freshman much of chance. That said, Eason is our best option but Cheney is worse than sucking fat cock. My question is how Brandon Adams, Jeff Sentel, and Chip Towers seem to believe incoming freshman offensive linemen are the answer. They all agree Fromm playing over Eason is worse case senerio but incoming 17/18 year old OL's should be better than a Ben Cleveland or Sam Madden because they are heavier. They have gushed and jizzed all over the incoming freshmen but I can't believe they will be better than two 330 pounders that have gone through a year of college weight training and being submerged in Cheneys 3 play playbook. Maybe some of y'all can explain that to me.

You are 100% correct. Kirby and Chaney (more Kirby, I think) did almost everything they could do to destroy Eason's confidence. The abject stupidity was sickening. Every opponent loaded the box on first and second down.

I would imagine that TL looked at the way Eason was used and decided that he wanted no part of that kind of crap.

Why are you addressing this to me? I'm fully confident that Eason is the starter for the foreseeable future.

You like best buddies with Eason? You seem mad.
