The last play in the 2012 SEC championship game had more to do with Richt stupidly trying to run a quick play when everyone was in a rush and confused. What he should have done is hike the ball into the ground to stop the clock and set up a play. Get everyone focused and together. I don' know if we win if we do that, but I believe our chances are much better if we had time to set up a play than running a quick play and trying to catch a well coached Bama defense off guard.

sigh....we knew exactly what we were doing. We drove the entire length of the field in a minute and had them on their heels and bobo was going for the win. It was absolutely 100% the right call.

we would've called the same play. And their defense would have had time to catch their breath and recollect.

would having a breather have prevented their much, much better DLineman from putting his hand in the air? The play happened because their DL put his hand up, period. NOt the play call, not the timing, it was a 1 on 1 matchup at the line that their guy won. Simple as that.

If that hand doesnt' go up and we throw a back shoulder to mitchell in the endzone richt is still here, has 3 SEC titles and a natty, and everyone is wanting a statue built of him in sanford.

So the defensive coordinator isn't responsible for stopping the other team's offense, they're responsible for their team scoring a lot.

What the blue hell is that argument?

Clemson scored less than Alabama did. When the clock hits all zeroes, that's the only stat that counts.

We'll have to disagree. It was a stupid call and Aaron Murray was right to want to spike the ball. Watching the play unfold, they sure as hell didn't look like they had a clue. The play didn't even come close. If you disagree, so be it. The fact that we drove the field is irrelevant when you trying to get on the line and run a play with only five seconds left and everyone is looking around wondering wha the hell to do. They barely got the play off. It was a crap play that never had a chance and had no blocking whatsoever. There are a myriad of better plays that could have been called. Doesn't mean we win.

I think it was the right call to push the play rather than kill the clock. It would've worked if Pruitt was DC....didn't work on Kirby.

That shite last night was so easy I could've thrown AND caught that pass. I'm surprised Watson wasn't doing his Legolas bit before the pass was caught it was so open.

Yup. Richt made the right call. Just poor execution by Gurley trying to block the linebacker that was crashing wide.

Call timeout... run the play... and the ball falls in Conley's hands and nothing changes. The only time you spike there is if the defense thows something unexpected and we need to recollect with a different personnel grouping.

God,itS unbelievably moronic to even imply this.
Two completely different circumstances in different
years with different personal.

Clemson ran a simple pick with a 30 second timeout under their belt and the threat of Watson or somebody else running the ball.

Its beyong pathetic that you're somehow dick riding Clemson's victory as some type of feather in Kirby's hat

Hope you're trolling.

What? You think challenging the myth and legend that is Jeremy Pruitt is trolling?

Perish the thought.

HTDawg,

The pass was tipped. Had Bama not tipped that pass, it would have been either:

Touchdown
Or
Incomplete

Touchdown wins the game for us.

Incomplete stopped the clock, and we run another play. Who knows what happens in this hypothetical universe.

What annoys the shite out of me are people like you, who were confused and nervous, and project that discombobulation onto the team, when in fact the team knew exactly what they were doing.

I agree to disagree with you. I'm right, you are wrong.

You're challenging CJP's coaching ability by comparing ONE play in completly different circumstances?

Once again, dick riding CU's performance to justify your
Kirby crush is pathetic.

But I don't use the phrase "Dick riding"...

So at least I've got that going for me.
