The car getting stuck in the desert scene was kind of out there. I was like WTH the right front wheel of the car manages to barely get stuck in dry desert sand and the car can't move. It was all to infuse a little drama into the show to have her ultimately save the car from colliding with the pumpjack.
It would have made more sense to have the car swallowed by a sinkhole with her managing to escape and maybe rescued by a passerby in an ultralight aircraft a la The Road Warrior.

*********FACE MELTER / BCS SPOILER ALERT***************
Did anybody else see it?
-there's no pics of the crash available online yet, but as she's driving right before the crash, they wanted you to see something
-on her ear.
-something very important.
-something that explains EVERYTHING
-and then she gets out of the car, dazed form the wreck
-and we see that she went straight
-the trademark bcs yellow center-line took a turn
-but she went straight
-into a rock and nearly off a cliff
-this is next level 5 dimensional story telling, folks
-and we talked about the rules of triangles last week
-which they clearly reminded us of right before impact
-and so we know that since Kim's Line (side) of the triangle has just been altered
-then the unwavering rules of geometry now dictate that one or both of the other two lines/sides of the triangle must now be altered in order to adjust
-so, if Chucks house burns down next Monday night after a lantern gets knocked over like I told you it would, just raise a clinched fist in air and nod your head to acknowledge this prediction. That's not much to ask.
-They released the name of next weeks finale, btw
-that episode name
-is
-"LANTERN"

-maybe a car could get stuck in flat desert dirt
-but it sure as shite doesn't roll on flat ground like that after 110 lb kale-eatin Kim get's it unstuck
This exact thing has happenned to me, it is 100% possible.

You weigh substantially more than 110 lbs though so the situations can't be viewed as comparable.

That's why she (and I) left the car in gear, idling, then rocked it over the hump, then had to chase it down.

"B9. B9 everyone. Let's hope that biopsy comes back Be-Nign.."
Such a great episode. They made up for the last two filler episodes big time. I finally hate Jimmy again now for good because you don't frick with an old lady like that unless you are a psychopathic devil worshipper. Other great lines.....
-"Next time bring a tin cup" - so good, right there.
-"B12, like the vitamin"
-"Drug dealer? If you think he's just a drig dealer, then you don't know who Gustavo Fring is."

I think it was more about how the Texas oilman told her to call his cell if she needed anything, and he couldn't have been more than a quarter mile away, but she got out and tried to fix the situation herself. Without asking anyone to help.
They're showing us what Kim's side of the triangle is made out of. And then when her plan almost goes awry, I think that's also helping the build up to the disaster that happens in the end of the episode.
No way in hell that car rolls like that on flat ground though. Ha! So dumb. Like last week when slippin jimmy slipped on the drumstick. So awkward.

That's probably right. I would have thought that normally cellphone reception in that kind of area would be spotty at best but the way they set things up it seems she would have had no problem contacting someone.
If they had set it up as more do or die then it would have added to the drama.

Was Kim technically practicing law in Texas?
Posted on 6/13/17 at 4:39 pm to deeprig9
That can be a fine line sometimes.
Are you suggesting turning her into the board governing the unauthorized practice of law in Texas?

So, anybody do the raised fist/nod thing?
Ha, ha, ha! sHitheads!!!!!!! I'm fricking glad nobody ever listens to me. It makes the victories even sweeter...EAT shite!!!!!!!! Greatest TV show ever created. (tied with the one it's a prequel for, actually)

Sorry, had to get that out of my system.
Almost as face-melting as Chuck's suicide though was how Kim kept talking about Lines. Dammit! Not looking good for Kim in season 4 now if I'm reading what she said correctly.

I dvr'd and just finished.... what was Kim saying about lines?
Posted on 6/21/17 at 9:33 am to deeprig9
quote:
what was Kim saying about lines?
A bunch. For starters, she said "There are LINES we do not cross". Which may have seemed like just a cute throwaway comment, but it wasn't...
Because she says this leading into the conversation about how she could've killed someone when she crossed the line. Three of them she says, and without remembering any of it.
So, she nearly Crossed the Line and Killed Someone. (double meaning here, you see? Hell, quadruple meaning. More maybe)
And what does Jimmy say in response to that?
He says, "Yeah, yourself". (triple meaning)
Let's look at Relaxathon 2003 too. Hang on a minute.

Relax-athon 2003 is really Reflect-athon 2003
So, this workaholic-caused accident (when she nearly Crossed The Line and killed someone) is causing her to reflect on her Life and priorities, right? A Close Encounter will do that to a person. (Remember those two words, please.)
At first she breifly reverts into workaholic mode with Franchesca, but then has her cancel all her appointments, and opts instead for video rentals, Doritos, and soul searching......
Off to blockbuster she goes....to pick up a stack of DVDs one of which is a copy of "To Kill A Mockingbird" which she watches not once, but twice.
So here she is eating doritoes dipped in nacho sauce watching Scout and Boo Radley and confronting the idealistic fantasy view of the law she had as a kid, and comparing it to reality with Jimmy. And of course they talk about the fictional world-saver Atticus Finch, and this is when Jimmy says the part about wanting to be Atticus was always Chuck's thing.
**[Let that sink in now that you know that Chuck has crossed the line and committed suicide]**
And now think about what this is going to do to Kim when she finds out that Atticus, I mean Chuck has taken his own life. And think about the torment and regret that Kim has shown this season about her role in Chuck's demise. And think about her current state of reflection on career/life priorities. You don't just go back to working on Mesa Verde......a case you stole from Chuck.......after learning that he commited suicide.
Where is Kim without Mesa Verde? More importantly, WHERE IS KIM WHEN DARKENSS FALLS? (remember those two words, too)
I'll explain the four words your suppose to remember in a bit. Hang on.

*****You can't SPOILER something that hasn't been written yet*******
Or can you?
**ALERT ALERT Proceed at your own risk if you don't want to know how the rest of the entire BCS series plays out....**
I'm serious
OK, I'm pretty sure Kim's fate and Trajectory, and that of the entire series, was revealed at Blockbuster Video during the stockpiling of supplies for Reflect-athon 2003.
Here's how:
WHen Kim is picking out the symbolicly idealistic "To Kill A Mockingbird" video rental, she is framed by one of the the aisles/rows/lines inside the store. On the shelf in a line in front of her, are mutiple copies of only three individual videos.
-First off, hopefully you realize that nothing on this show is accidental. Nothing.
-Second off, blockbuster organizes their movies by category and in aplphabetical order, right?
-And while the first two might be close in alphabetical order, there's no way a shelf stocker would skip from "D" to "N" that quickly for the third title
-so there's some more proof for you.
-Anyway, here are the three movie titles (aka trajectory-line spoilers) that we are shown in front of Kim during her reflection phase...
1) "Close Encounters"
2) "Darkness Falls", and...
3) "Night of the Living Dead"
I'll explain how this works in a minute. Hang on.

So, we know where Jimmy's trajectory line is going, right? Straight into the garbage. As represented visually above with the wall logo going straight into the garabage
-and by the fact that this is a prequel, so we know he goes into the trash.
But, where is Kim's going??
-well, remember that the wall trajectory line logo is W and M. Wexler and McGill. It's both of them.
-but in the final episode there's a scene I can't find a pic of that shows the empty office. And there's a conversation about the wall logo. (this will turn into another 1,000 words if I explain that, so maybe later)
-but in the final pic of the office the logo is shown with the mirrored ceiling showing the WM logo trajectory line in REVERSE
-with the trajectory eventually going up!
-THIS IS KIM'S TRAJECTORY LINE!!!!!!!!!!
-back to Blockbuster and the three spoilers.............
quote:
1) "Close Encounters"
2) "Darkness Falls", and...
3) "Night of the Living Dead"
I'll explain how this works in a minute. Hang on.
-OK,
-so, the Close Encounter is Kim's close encounter with death/manslaughter that has her reflecting on life priorities.
-And Darkness Falls is Season 4 when the Darkness of Chuck's suicide will Fall on Kim, Jimmy, and Howard. And change each of their lives/trajectories profoundly and permanently.
-the end result will be Kim leaving Albequerkee in some heart-wrenching dramatic way. And more Darkness will fall on Jimmy.
-Saul like a cockaroach will come out in the darkness.
-Fast-Fwd through the Breaking Bad timeline.....and this brings us to the series/trajectory ending aka NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
-when Gene, who is really Saul who is presumed dead and currently in an underground witness relocation program running a Cinnabun, rises from the "dead" as Jimmy..........and reunites with Kim
-Tears fall, faces melt
-hopefully clenched fists are raised, and heads nod in remembrance of this post
-Roll credits
