Just wondering if anyone has an update on this guy. Some early reports suggested he was going to be a factor this year on the D-line or at LB but he has missed the last two weeks with an "unknown injury". If this has already been discussed in a previous thread I am sorry but I did not have a chance to comb through before. Thanks!

Pruitt says he's battling for playing time just like everyone else.

He's had some good days and gotten some good praise from Pruitt. Davis and Parrish are both really good corners and McGraw is reported to be a physical freak, he's apparently the biggest DB out there but also arguably the most athletic. I think those 3 will be starters in our nickle package (with McGraw at Star), but Fenteng should see meaningful snaps.

As far as Ledbetter is concerned, he'll be out a couple of weeks, maybe a little more. The more concerning thing for him, as far as this season is concerned, is his weight. He's on the lighter side of the DL at around 260 right now and hasn't been putting on weight as quickly as the staff had hoped. I think he'll be fine after a year or so, but a redshirt could be in his future this year. Michael Barnett has been tearing it up in practice and will likely add some quality depth as a true freshman.

I have no idea what's actually going on, but it seems to me like an illness situation. Mono, perhaps? May explain his weight loss.

If that's the case it may be better to Redshirt him this year. If I remember correctly isn't he super young for his class? Like 17 or something? If so a RS would probably do him some good.

What do ya'll hear on Briscoe? I have heard a good blip or two but have no idea if he is going to be 2nd on the depth chart or what.

I heard Jonathan Abrams was doing well with the second unit at safety. He is very athletic and big. A friend talked to his mom and he loves it out there. Coming from MS and a real small town I was worried he would get homesick but he loves the competition and feels like UGA will make him the best player he can be. His mom mentioned Juwan but I think they are just friends don't know about his play. Abrams did run with the ones she said but it was cause Mauger was sitting out for that time

From what I've heard, probably having the 2nd best camp among the freshman DBs, which is mainly because McGraw has had such an outstanding showing. Sounds like Baker is coming around after a slow start to camp. Overall, it sounds like we have a very good group of freshmen.

How about Roquan Smith? Making any waves? Sorry, haven't been paying a ton of attention.

From what I hear, he was running with the 1's when Carter and Kimbrough were banged up, and still getting reps with the 1's when they're healthy. Godwin, Smith, Thompson, and McGraw have all had extremely good camps and, from reports, will be impossible to keep off the field.

Chigbu, Barnett, Patrick, Briscoe, and Walker are all guys who have also done very well and likely earned themselves some PT down the road, and not just special teams.

Our recruiting class this past year was pretty phenomenal when you consider how many guys we brought in who are ready to play already.
