Not sure what they are doing differently, but this is the best I have seen a UGA team control the middle of the los. It's exciting.

They totally took the dive away from USC. Spurrier needs it to work for his offense to click. In fact, no one has had success with it so far. Some well timed run blitzes helped too. It's good stuff.

This rustles my jimmies in the best way. Means that we'll be able to shut Tech down assuming we stay healthy and consistent.

Just wait until Big Trent Thompson get comfortable with the system. We're gonna be deep on the line. Even DaQuan Hawkins getting reps at 6-4 305 pounds.

Chris Mayes has stepped up big time this year.

Hocke is getting after it.
Mayes, Atkins, and Bailey are studs. TT looks like he is feeling his way in there. Dawson and Deloach are veterans and are good depth.
Young guys have a bright future too. Exciting times.

The ND game was the first view I got of Tech this year. As most of us can agree....they failed to deliver on the hype.

People say CFB is cyclical and I agree! Doesn't it feel like Auburn has the curse on them now, with the injuries, bad Dline play, etc.? I wonder if it left with Garner?

Regardless.... if this holds true all season, we will be in every game... this has been one of our biggest weaknesses on Defense over the last decade or so.

Yeah I actually felt like we saw a positive difference between Garner and Wilson, but now we seem to be rolling. There is a marked improvement on both sides of the line for that matter. That Garner/Searels combo was a disaster.

Tech's offense really isn't complicated to figure out and stop. Hence, a million high school coaches can defend against it and why we've been able to stonewall them under Johnson for as long as we have.
Rule #1: Take away the dive play. Last year, we couldn't stop the dive. Just could not do it, so Tech was able to hang around and score. Add to that two fumbles on the goal line and we were toast.
Take away the dive, though and they become a one dimensional team pitching to the outside. That may yield some results, but it will result in a lot of lost yardage too when linebackers and DBs blow up plays and get the QB rustled/hit. From there, they have to start passing which they're just not that adept at doing. They may hit a few bombs here and there but not enough to win them the game.
All told, take away the dive play and you've got them beat.

Agreed...he definitely looked a little more comfortable in this game. Can only get better going forward.

We will learn a lot about our interior D line in two weeks.
Currently, I'm cautiously optimistic. In two weeks, one way or another, I'll find out for sure.
