Never popped pills or did heroine, but last night I had a little cough syrup, legally prescribed, with hydrocodone in it. I felt really good, very relaxed, very nice. Great cough syrup.

This morning, I was on the bathroom floor fighting back vomit, never actually vomitted, but it came in a few waves, where I got dizzy and cold and nauseas, and looked in the mirror once and it was like I was looking at my own dead body.

What kind of fricked up shite gives you withdrawals like that when I just had a cough and the kroger pharmacy gives me this shite?

Is this fricking normal?

If you took the prescribed dose, that's not normal. You just have a case of the pussy stomach.

You could have a problem. Probably hypersensitive to opiods.

I think I exceeded it. I didn't measure, just took two glugs out of the bottle.

Even though you were really stupid to not measure out the correct dosage, that was still an extreme reaction. It is possible you are allergic to something in the medicine, I had the same reaction with morphine in the Army.
Before you go off on me for calling you stupid, would have dosed your child as casually as that?

Sweet shite...

Yeah, not measuring the dosage was dumb. I would tell the doctor about the reaction, he would probably have better insight than this peanut gallary

Taking any other medications? Drug interactions can be pretty nasty if you mix two or more of the wrong things.

Codeine allergy. My late Mom had it. Couldn't be around the stuff. Same reaction.

It wasn't withdrawal and probably not an allergic reaction either. Nausea and vomiting are a known and common side effect of opioid narcotics, and can happen with even small doses. The pale face you saw in the mirror was a vagal response to your nausea, probably accompanied by a drop in your blood pressure. Best thing to do when that happens is to sit or lie down so you don't faint.

Looking at the directions, I didn't actually exceed it by much. 15 mg dose, I did maybe 20.

Also, I have some hydrocodone pills for my back last year, only ended up taking a couple of them, didn't have any adverse reactions.

Only drugs I trust are alcohol and marijuana.

I don't touch anything sold in any pharmacy, including Tylenol.

You measured what is left in it vs what the total volume was?

I eyeballed it. I'm actually very good at that now, with a toddler that is constantly taking 5 mg of this and 3 mg of that. Antibiotics, not opiates.

Oh boy. Eye balling baby meds? Taking glugs? How many ml are in a glug?

I don't eyeball the baby meds. I'm just saying I have enough experience measuring in ML's lately that I'm confident in my eyeballing. This is beside the point.

5mL is a teaspoon and two glugs from the tiny opening of this bottle is probably 20 ml.

Or maybe you should measure it to prove yourself right.

To the OP.

More people die every year from prescribed Opioid medicines than total gun deaths.

Not over doses, people dying from taking opioids as prescribed. Talk to your doc or find another one.
