As of now, SEC schools can't have camps more than 25 miles from campus. Obviously michigan is challenging this convention as most of us have heard, so there's speculation that maybe this will be more commonplace going forward in the not too distant future. Some of kirby's quotes:

quote:

“I have thought about it. We have talked about it as a staff but as the SEC conference, we can’t go anywhere right now. But if they drop the rule and the rule changes we’ve got to be prepared. We’ve got a plan ready to kick in if it happens so we’ll be prepared for it...Ultimately, every SEC school wants those kids on their campus. I don’t want to have to go to them but if it gives somebody a competitive advantage to go to them, we’ll do the same thing.”

It's awesome to see us at the forefront of topics like this and being proactive with a plan already in place instead of being years behind.

I know Kirby hasn't coached 1 single game as a head coach yet but geez it's impossible not to be fired up about the program with this guy at the helm.
