He's absolutely right. If we had missed on it, he would have been highly criticized for the call. It wouldn't matter how many people were calling for it at the time. We tend to have short memories.

the playcalling might have been criticized (a la USC 1st and goal at the 4), but I doubt very many fans would have argued with the decision to go for it. I was literally yelling at the TV with my wife telling me to STFU! LOL!

Haha! Look, I agree. There's plenty of rational fans who would have appreciated the call either way. But then there's that vocal minority.

Only thing I thought was stupid was that we didn't immediately get to the line to try to draw Auburn off. Instead, we wasted a timeout trying to figure shite out. He made the right call by trotting the offense out and stealing Auburn's manhood on that play.

Couldn't agree more. I told the guy watching it on my phone with me to watch Georgia have the offense on the field, then trot out the FG unit and call a TO because we have no fricking clue what we want in life.

Regardless of sentiment either way, it was absolutely the correct call regardless of the results. We have been running all over Auburn's front 7 and there was zero reason to believe we couldn't get 1 yard in that situation. It was actually A&M that looked stupid by last night for not embracing the obvious and loading up on the right side of their line and running behind it instead of a finesse pass play that was behind the LOS. If you are going to pass in that situation, you damn sure better pass into the end-zone.

Actually at home that early with that score, the smart thing to do is to go for it , but first call a time out get the right play and give a pep talk to the o line. Remember when we didn't spike the ball against Bama and everyone said we rushed the play? It depends on the feel of the game. Of course TexasAM tried it both ways and still failed. Da bastards.

Come on, ya go for it, no brainer.

If we had done the same in Columbia at the 1st on the 4, we would just have 1 loss and be really talking SECCG instead of praying Missou gets beat.

Grow some balls, play to win.

If? If? If we hadn't been five yards short in that game...

If the ref hadn't made the bad call on TG's 53 yard touchdown run then we would have won the game.

If that bad call keeps us from getting into the SECCG then it isn't the team's or coaches' fault.

We really should have only one SEC loss and already be in the SECCG no matter what Missou does in their next two SEC games.

Now we are stuck having to hope Missou loses one of those two games.

The bad call is not in our control. What plays we run are.

And the play we ran resulted in a 53 yard touchdown run by Gurley that was negated by the bad call by the ref.

It's the ref's fault that we lost that game not the team's or the coaches' fault.

That bad call which the refs admitted was a bad call has resulted in all of us having to hope that Missou gets beat by Tennessee or Arkansas in order for the Dawgs to play in the SECCG.

That's a fact!
