On the lack of the IPF. I've heard CKS say it many times, and really if you think about it,it makes sense.Look at the stats.Everyone around us has a Facility.Kirby said at Bama they used it a lot, from heat alone. He said practicing in this kind of heat, doesn't give your legs a chance to recover, not to mention bad weather days.It will be interesting to see this time next year how many injuries we have.Just sayin'

We have a couple of sprained ankles from practice is about it this year and we don't have an IPF....why would you jinx us 2 weeks before our first game?

LSU is having a horrible offseason for injuries....they have an IPF.

Tired legs do not equate to injuries. If you practice too much indoors it puts you at a disadvantage for the first couple of games. (Ok, not this year since the first one will be indoors) I can assure you injuries will happen indoors and outdoors, and we probably lose 1 or two days a year at most due to weather. An IPF is nice, and it impresses recruits, but they are hardly necessary. When I played, I don't remember losing a single day to a lack of an IPF....and back then nobody had them that I know of. We practiced in snow, rain everything. Almost like a real game.

If only their Lazy River was operational...Fournette wouldn't have sprained his ankle.

Probably one of the best reasons to build one. CKS was talking about muscle recovery time which doesn't equate to injuries. IF we had a significant injury problem (which we didn't before this jinx-ey post) you'd look at the strength and conditioning program- not the lack of an IPF.
The IPF will be nice but it's certainly not the answer to every problem. And, as previously mentioned, games are not played in a climate controlled environment. And ESPECIALLY in the SEC the players need to practice in ALL conditions especially heat and rain. From listening to CKS I think he'll only use it in extreme conditions (i.e. lightning and extreme heat over multiple days).

ETA: watching Kirby laugh at the media guy who asked about taking the players swimming makes me feel even better about his hire. This is football not summer camp. Nice backflip CMR- can we practice some damn Ball now...

Stop talking about injuries.

I already had to call my Haitian friend's grandmother yesterday to get the damn recipe. Have you ever tried to catch a live Crow to obtain his foot? It has to be from a LIVE frigging crow!
Do you have any idea how hard it is going to be for me to get 13 Iguana testicles? And now I'm gonna have to do it all again next year.

For the love of Crows and Iguanas STOP talking about injuries. You're causing the castration of 7 of those poor lizards not to mention a peg-leg crow every time you open your mouth. (Yeah- I'm trying to rig up a toothpick prosthetic leg I, personally LIKE animals)

I think this has been a problem of ours for some time....when you are tired you don't protect your body as well....and competitors are going to give 100% even when exhausted so they trade body protection for that extra effort.....saw where Miami just lost a tailback I believe to a knee injury...just saying it sure did seem to happen a lot in Athens the last couple of years....

I was an offensive lineman in highschool and I can remember clearly being able to hold a block AND lift a leg, almost without thinking about it, when someone fell into my legs early in a game and the season...but that effort became harder and harder as the game and the season wore on...I was fortunate to never have anything other than deep bruises and the normal shite but it is easy to see how a pulling guard will swap leg protection for getting there when he is tired....I was too slow to get there most of the time anyway LOL....

Not an easy thing to do. Especially if your center gets knocked back.

True dat...Offensive linemen are the greatest athletes and the smartest people associated with any football team! All the "skill" players would be shite out of luck it weren't for the large gentlemen in the trenches....and we don't even do any show boating or bring any attention to ourselves....we just do what we do knowing we are the brains of the outfit!

I can't recount the times me and the center were in a pile with defensive linemen tangled up on the ground and the tailback and QB were on the ground 5 yards behind the line and every coach on the sideline having a cerebreal hemmorhage....it is amazing how far a stack of paper drinking cones will fly with enough force applied to them and how pretty the rainbow is from a cooler full of green gator ade flying through the night air with the friday night lights shining through it.....and amazing that the human brain can register such things knowing full well that the incident that set the cups and gator ade flying was caught on film and would be discussed at length in Saturday morning film study....and would come with a nice week of running the hill everyday after practice....
