Has the SEC ever permanently dismissed an official for poor performance?

I googled and couldn't find an example. Considering what's at stake in todays game, should they dismiss officials that are prone to higher instances of error?

I'm sure they haven't renewed contracts before. But they have to ask the REC first, obviously.

Penn Wagers is a name i'll throw out there. fricker has been involved in more shitty calls than a plumber and he's still around. Why do they protect officials that tarnish their brand?

Al ford was suspended in 99 for what he did to us.

The AJG pf call vs LSU also resulted in a hand slap by the league. I'm trying to find an instance where an official has been released all together by the league for conduct/inconsistency.

I think it's like being a public school teacher. You're tenured after five seconds so it so it doesn't matter how shitty you are.

Never has happened and likely never will. It woudl take something egregious like proven gambling interests to cause an official to be dismissed.

You've got to understand that college officials are not NFL officials. They're not full time with a salary like NFL officials. They get paid part time for a few weeks out of the year. Most of them are business owners and lawyers and shite like that during the week. The way the SEC sees it is like any other employer would an employee: if they're not doing anything way out of line, why fire someone who is not only already trained and experienced in that line of work but also is willing to put their face and name out there for entire fanbases to vehemently despise (given the way some Bama fans react to losses, this would be a deal breaker for me).

Is it fair and free of bias? Hell no. But until the SEC becomes the first conference in college football to hire full time officials, that's how it's going to be because it's cheap and easy and nobody is going to do anything more than piss and moan in response.

Good analogy, also reminiscent of a fraternal order of police. "Protect your own" kind of mentality.

In many cases I doubt it's honest error.

Some games are predetermined to have a certain outcome.

SEC officials didn't want South Carolina's season to end this early because they were favored to win the SEC east.

I actually felt like we got a fair shake with officiating after the AJG shite storm on the head office. Sometimes it takes being extremely vocal to get your point across.

damn you're dumb.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the SEC to want to protect one of its team's chances at making the final playoff? Don't you think the #6 ranked team winning would help that.

Also, what possible reason would SEC officials care if the frickin preseason favorite won their division or not? Do you think they get a pay bump if they make calls based on what the coaches predicted back in the summer? Holy shite.

All I know is I have never seen 4 major momentum turning calls in a game that ended that close go against the same team.

If they haven't kicked Penn Wagers arse to the curb yet, then they'll never dismiss anyone. Worst official in all of sports.
