Yep, smoking drinking and grilling for a crowd today in the rain.... Can't beat that shite and throwing the occasional pack of fire crackers into the group.

So many people today (green egg users mainly) forget the art of wrapping the butts and letting them rest unmolested for a few hours these days.

Americus went all out though, he brought in some of the Mixon clan to do ribs for him today.

Two racks of baby backs with heavy cherry wood smoke, now wrapped, sauce is mix of Sweet Baby Ray's original and some blackberry pepper jelly I picked up at the Winterville Spring Fest a few weeks ago.
Parents should be pulling up any minute to visit their grandson.
Dad said he has a case of heineken light.... so I will be drinking heineken light. He knows I like fancy beer... and to him, heineken is fancy.... I love dad.
But baby will be asleep before dark, so I don't know if firecrackers are going to be an option. The walls in my single wide are thin, and it would just wake him up.
However, my new jeep came with a 1 year subscription to SXM, so I can listen to the Dead/Trey show in my driveway and drink beer tonight, if mommy allows me to drink beer in the driveway all night. I doubt it will happen, but I dream. I'm going to pretend it's going to happen, so I can stay in a decent mood for the rest of the day.

Here West of the Mississippi it's nice temperature-wise--in the 70's--but we're contending with rain off and on. May have to cook inside and have a weather check for tomorrow for possible smoking but we'll have some homemade ice cream today for sure. Have a good one.

I can't believe it's nearly 2pm on the 4th and I haven't cracked a beer yet. I guess it's time to fix that. It's just unamerican to pull pork and not have have a cold beer in your hand.

Money mix. Glazed a butt during a wrap one time using that exact combo. Smoke it hot and spicy, then wrap sweet. Damn, now I gotta do one
