In 1988 Vince Dooley wrote down the 10 greatest games he coached at Georgia.

Bill King reprinted the list and came up with his 10 greatest Georgia games during the Dooley years.

The only game I see missing that should be there is the 1985 game against Florida, knocking them off 24-3 when they were ranked numero uno.

'84 Clemson? I guess they were a bigger rivalry for the fans than than coaches.

Michigan?I know it was a big deal at the time but that UM team ended up being pretty mediocre.

Man this list makes me wish I was alive during these games, maybe Kirby can let me see an NC live, not on a VHS.

It wasn't "racist retard."

It was a point that I made with satire.

I am disappointed you didn't understand it.

no, you're just "full-blown retard".

Hell, Monteg could show up over there and he'd be hailed a genius compared to you.

Why are you so humorless?

I was using satire to illustrate hypocrisy.

It was...you know...funny.

Calling someone a "retard" is not funny. It sounds like something an angry old white man would say.

I'm afraid your "humor" didn't go over so well on the PT. Embarrassing.

Keep poli board stuff on the poli board, please.

Zero reason to bring that up in this thread.

Beating Texas (10-9) in the '84 Cotton Bowl was sweet. Had Texas won, they would have been national champions that year.

I went to almost every home game from 83-85 plus many many GA-FL games. The 1985 GA-FL game is by far my favorite. I went to it with about 8 of my friends plus my new girlfriend (now my wife of over 28 years). We drank, yelled, and had a blast pre-game. Then we took the cocky Gayturds down from their first ever No 1 ranking. We then stormed the field chanting "4 whole days" the number of days they were No 1. We took chunks of the field back to Athens. This is the game that prompted the future police lines and horses protecting the field that you now see.

Clemson was a big deal in the early 80s, having won a NC in 1981 (because Dan Marino beat us up in the Sugar Bowl, I was at that one too). Beating Clemson with a long field goal was awesome. I think Kevin kicked 62 yards or something like that.

And one of my newer favorites (not from Dooley years), hanging 50+ on the ol ball sack and having him call it quits.

I was at the game in 1984 when Butler kicked it 60 yards to beat Clemson. Clemson had the Dawgs down 20-6 at halftime and reportedly Dooley was so pissed he threw a chair. It worked.

Georgia beating Clemson in 1982 was a nationally broadcasted game featuring the 2 defending national champions. The final score was 13-7, but Georgia had 2 long touchdowns called back.

Clemson beat Georgia in 1981, so they would have won the NC even if UGA won the Sugar Bowl. I still say Georgia had a stronger team that year than they did in 1980 but didn't have the luck. They were good enough to win it all.

We probably go ahead of Clemson had they lost to Nebraska in the Orange bowl.

I believe we had around 7 turnovers when we played em.

'81 was probably the most balanced offensively of the 4
great teams of the 80's. '82 had the best balance on both sides of the ball.
